Yes saw his press conference and suspected he'd bring back Dier. Long overdue btw. Not sure on Sissoko at RB long term. I would have played Winks in place of Lamela though.. But having said that I'm all for rotation and giving the broader squad game time.
I like Winks a lot but I think he causes Poch real selection dilemmas and I get the feeling the use of the diamond partly stems from Poch trying to fit him into the side. Will be interesting to see how we manage without him today.

It doesn't have to be a 4-2-3-1. Might be Dier at the base, with Eriksen and N'dombele on the sides and Lamela behind the two strikers. Hope it's a 4-2-3-1 though... Or a 4-3-3 I guess, but I doubt it.
Fingers crossed, just not the bloody diamond please.

It's almost like Poch has been on SC and thought if I give them what they want then at least they can't blame my team selection

Seriously though - it should be 4231 and fingers crossed. The alternative to Eriksen was obvs to play Lamela in the middle of the 3 and Moura on the right. Poch presumably thinks that Eriksen is fit and up for the battle...

Fuck me sideways he’s put Sissoko at right back and a Dier in midfield - both excellent moves! ??

Praying it’s a 4-2-3-1... ?

Predicted it. Lovely. Finally with Dier/Ndombele and drop that Winks nonsense.
Looks like Poch has listened.

Reckon we will smash them. COYS
If that’s the way we set up we will smash them. Fingers crossed. Much better balance and set-up. Hope it’s not the sodding diamond.

Aurier red has forced Poch into sensible decisions.

Sky sports worryingly have it as a diamond too, you’d think Poch wouldn’t be that stupid but on bright side at least we have Dier in there protecting back four.

I mean that’s obviously a diamond. I’d be floored if its a 4231. The diamond is our formation this season

Good line up but I fear Lucas will leave at the end of the season

Have to feel for him. Nothing wrong with being in a squad but when the same favourites are played it has to be demotivating. He needs to be playingaand not warming a bench for 80 minutes. Brilliant player.
I like Winks a lot but I think he causes Poch real selection dilemmas and I get the feeling the use of the diamond partly stems from Poch trying to fit him into the side. Will be interesting to see how we manage without him today.

I think it's because he's tried to shoehorn him into a DM when he's a CM.. I take Lamela out push Eriksen forward as in the formation below and leave Lamela out.

I’d be fine if it was a 433 with Lamela and Son flanking Kane, particular as Eriksen’s role is probably the one intended for Lo Celso long term, I just don’t want the diamond.

BT analysis from Jenas just showed how bad Aurier was on Tuesday. I was at the game and knew he was awful but haven’t been able to bring myself to watch the goals again till now. He was far worse than I thought, he really shouldn’t ever play for us again.

Tbf Joe Cole analysed the press problems really well against Bayern - clearly, the Diamond and the press was a high-risk strategy to go with, but I'll still say that the counter-press still presents more problems right now with any formation. If Poch can find the right balance of intensity with his system, then we could possibly recover our season and his job. I'm hoping this 4-2-3-1 will be a lot more effective and we can have a really positive game today.

Line up perfectly suits 4-2-3-1 bit of its the diamond then I lose all hope already. He just won’t change it until he’s sacked. Big game for Dier, hope he proves his worth as we need a DM in there, and might release Ndombele
