It doesn't have to be a 4-2-3-1. Might be Dier at the base, with Eriksen and N'dombele on the sides and Lamela behind the two strikers. Hope it's a 4-2-3-1 though... Or a 4-3-3 I guess, but I doubt it.

Ndombele might play in a slightly more advanced role with Dier covering for him and he won't tire that much in that case, important until he gains more stamina and conditioning. Dier will also be more useful in defending set pieces than Winks, good selection.

So which no mark Brighton spud we've never heard of is nailed on for a brace? I'm predicting Alzate. :cautious:

Is this finally the 4-3-3.

Quite like the make up of the team. Also like seeing Big Eric back in. He might lack technically, but he definitely has presence and some bollocks.

Credit to Sissoko as well. Whilst I’m no great fan, you can’t knock his attitude and willingness to be the utility man in instances like this.

Sissoko will give his all- he always does - but I'm not that sure about him as RB in a back 4. I'd prefer him as a wing back with a back 3 and that might also be a fluid in-game change with Dier dropping in.

COYS!

I recognise more players on the Brighton bench than I do their starting 11.

I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

He said in the press that he thought Sissoko was brilliant against So'ton and is currently our best option. He's also picked him ahead of Sanchez, Foyth and an actual RB in KWP (who appears to have completely fallen out of favour as I don't think he's injured). I think this is a sign that Poch is seriously considering Sissoko as future option there which I'm all for.

My post was more referring to the shape of the team, though. This is the first time we've played a 4-2-3-1 (please God) with a dedicated DM alongside a midfielder who can pass it forward in fuck knows how long. I think Poch has realised he needed to change things up after the Bayern result which isn't exactly hard to believe.

Yes saw his press conference and suspected he'd bring back Dier. Long overdue btw. Not sure on Sissoko at RB long term. I would have played Winks in place of Lamela though.. But having said that I'm all for rotation and giving the broader squad game time.

This should be
Hugo
Sissoko (been saying rb for ages. Toby jan davies
Dier
Nd eriksen
Son lamela slightly higher but wide
Kane

Not sure what that is 4-5-1 ? Staggered midfield with Dier holder

Looks suspiciously diamond again though.
Good job it’s brighton away and not City

BT absolutely destroying our formation and tactics from Tuesday. Hearing the brains of Joe Cole going through it makes it even worse.

If Poch can’t see it now he never will. Let’s hope that’s not the diamond again.

Predicted it. Lovely. Finally with Dier/Ndombele and drop that Winks nonsense.
Looks like Poch has listened.

Reckon we will smash them. COYS

If he wasn't happy he wouldn't have signed a new contract especially after the CL final snub.

Well see if he’s still happy after the end of this season, he’s getting less minutes then last season as it stands & were out of 1 cup competition already
