I just don’t see DL allowing that money to be spent on a striker now when we have cheapskated and failed to provide any of our managers with capable back up/competition for Kane since … well actually never ? because it sounds like DV wants to leave on good terms with the fans, could you imagine the scenes of if he stops scoring for them after hes signed to us. They'd turn on him so quick for "not having his mind in it" "not playing for the badge anymore" and shit like that, it doesn't make much sense for him to sign with us or anyone and go back till the end of the year

I still think we’d be remiss if we weren’t to make a concerted effort for him in January, regardless of the likelihood of him signing this month, if for nothing else than to demonstrate to the player himself how determined we are to get him to join.

I can imagine us not trying to get him in January and then losing out in the summer because he thinks we weren’t that serious about him after all.

I really hope we get him.

That’s would seemingly be good news for us, we would then be forced to try for him now rather than the summer, and if we’re really the one he wants then no reason to not join

Sounds to me like we can shelve this idea until the Summer (let DV finish his season/save Fio’s face with the fans) and then cross everything a bigger fish/shark doesn’t turn Vlahovic’s head before we can make our move.
It also sounds like taking that 4th spot and earning CL would be a further proof to DV that we could be his new home.

Agree, I’m very optimistic that he’ll come to us but if not it won’t be Arsenal imvho.
