I was thinking you could also go son and Kane up top with him behind the creative behind in midfield and the wingbacks creating the width?

Would mean we keep Kane and Son together in the area of the pitch we need them and have someone who can create behind them doing the work that they both have to drop deep to do just now. But iv not see him in the middle to know if that would work.
I'm not sure how that would work. I dont think Insigne can do that kinda role. He could play off a single front man, or even be the front man people play off. But he isnt someone who makes play for others.

Hes more about giving him the ball, normally out wide, for him to twist and turn inside before getting a shot off or finding a runner into the box. He certainly doesnt play one touch football or anything.

Despite his incredible technique, and it's not like a bad passer, far from it, it just doesnt seem his position for me and I've never seen him play it. As a second striker yes, or as a 'false 9' but behind a front two in a 'midfield' position if you like, no.

He’s not a traditional winger. He doesn’t spray crosses or cut wide all that often. He does 3 things very well: find space, hold up the ball and pass. He also has a hell of a shot on him and digs in and wins quite a few duals.

Anyone who is comfortable on the ball and can actually pass to a white shirt is an upgrade on the majority of our squad, so on that basis I’m in.

He is very good at pulling defenders and playing others in with through balls. I think he’d be a great addition to the squad.

Not convinced he's a realistic option to be honest.

What we need almost more than any other position is a top quality striker, and if the stories are true that Vlahovic is going to be available for around £65 million, I think we should pull out all the stops to try and convince him to come to N17.

Okay but in reality, if Vlahovic isn't moving until the summer we could use someone in January. So if Insigne's available, you take him.

Sorry, you've lost me somewhat.

Point I was trying to make was that if he could handle the rigours of our league aged 30, and if he can carry his form from Italy to the prem, then he'd be an excellent acquisition.

However, as we've seen numerous times, no guarantees when players arrive from abroad.

There are no guarantees with anything.
Who would have thought Kane would have scored just 1 PL goal this season...

Insigne is too small even for serie A. When you are a player like him, lacking height & power is a given regardless of league. With his age & experience in international & club level, for me no there is no doubt he will be a hit in PL too.

I would be delighted if we sign him. He will be miles ahead of Lucas or Bergwijn in our 3-4-3 XI

Some of the greatest players who ever played the game have been short-arses. Greaves, Messi, Maradona...so I'm not too sure about that, especially in the kind of roles we're talking about here. If we were talking about goalies or centre-backs, you'd probably have a point, but...

5 and 1/2 year deal, €11m a season.
Be mad not too
Yep. Insane giving that to a 31 year old. But that is MLS. Not a surprise. It’s a retirement home where you go for 1 last major pay day. The league & its clubs try so hard to shed that label & yet they continue to do shit like this.

Ha what a waste. I live in Toronto and ostensibly follow the MLS team (used to actually care but very much do not anymore) but this is very annoying.
