Seeing as ITK have linked us. And some other sites. Some are reliable, far too many reek of piss like an old parraffin

Get him in

He’s a one club man though so I reckon it might just be his agent trying to get him a new deal.

Plays off the left but I think he’s a good player who really could help us unlock defences. We need a few more clever players like him.

Bottom line, I think he’d immediately be one of our 5 best players.

After thinking about it, I do have some concerns though. Age isn’t actually one of them, but rather the fact he’s picking up a few more injuries as he’s gotten older. Second is the fact I’m not sure how he’ll find the transition to the prem. Has only played in Serie A, and only really started to consistently perform for Italy after Mancini joined. Has put up good numbers and standout performances in CL and EL over the years though. Can he handle the step up in physicality and game speed? His Euros performances tell me yes, but something to keep in mind. Lastly, he only operates in one zone really. He picks up the ball wide or inside left and runs or plays inwards. Not a versatile player. Doesn’t run in behind much. He receives between the lines almost exclusively. If he joins, he gets the inside left position, because that’s the only place he can operate. Son isn’t as good on the right, but Insigne can’t really play on the right at all. Or he plays as a support striker to Kane, again hurting Son.

But after all that, it’s still an obvious yes for me. Firstly, it’ll be a small fee in January or free in the summer, insane value for a player of his quality. And then it’s his class. He’s not versatile, but he’s perfected his role and what he’s does a lot of, he’s one of the very best at in the world. Magical moments, creativity, many goals and assists from where he operates. Trademark long range curlers and curled passes from inside left. That’s how he racks up nearly all of his attacking numbers, and he’s world class at it. Penalties have inflated his numbers a bit, and for the ball striking he is capable of, the general finishing isn’t as lethal as it can be at times. But elite attacking numbers produced largely from outside the box, incredibly shifty, wonderful change of direction, and might have the best first touch in Europe. Whatever his role would be, it doesn’t matter. If the chance arises to sign this caliber of player, you sign that player and worry about how and where he fits later.

It's definitely his agent. Fabrizio is linking him with MLS. He'd command a very large designate player salary in that league. So this is 100% his agent at work hawking around for as much money to go back to Napoli with.

Insigne is a quality player, experienced at both club and international and key player for both club and country on top! Additional no stranger to Conte from his Italian National team days.

In last 6 years excluding this year he has in the league :
  • 75 Goals
  • 49 Assists
  • 124 Goal Contributions (Goals and Assist)
  • Average of 20 Goal contributions just in the league over the past 6 years
Additionally
  • He has 30 CL games under his belt which includes 11 goals and 2 assists
He is a speedy, nifty, clever player that scores and assists, also has a great engine on him and still has a few years left in his tank. He is a menace to the opposition like when lucas goes on his runs, Insigne great in transition , fits conte style, very composed on the ball and in pressure situations. A player that can turn a match or get that winning goal , some else wo can be relied upon to win us matches lightning the load on some like Kane especially.

Can play all across the 3 forward positions too, if bergwjn leave for examples he'd be a great replacement in that area as well. could be a very sagacious for his contribution level and experience.

He is very much Napoli through and through but could be his last chance for a big money contract and move abroad, would appease Napoli fans and flack by not going to a Serie A rival, allows himself to prove himself abroad and having Conte FP and italian coaches would help transition and im sure London, coupled with the best training facilities and best stadium in the world helps ;):):joyful:

I struggle to see the fit. He would probably want sizeable wages, and he plays in the same spot Son does.

He'll be 31 at the start of next season, will he really have the legs for the prem?

What's our obsession with left-wingers?

Yes, he's quality. But it would be another square peg in a round hole.

But if Conte wants him, listen to the boss.

Insigne would be fun.

Proper little baller. Could wreck havoc coming off the bench for Son.

So what if he plays in the same spot?!

We need strength in depth!

I know he's famous for cutting in and shooting on his right foot but is he any good at all at RW?

If so then I can see the logic as he'd definitely be an upgrade on Lucas in terms of creativity, link-up play and goals. And presumably quite cheap, provided Paratici doesn't get bent over on the wages Ramsey style. Would be an exciting signing that would elevate us.

If we only intend to play him at LW then it doesn't make much sense, though. Better to spend the money on higher priority positions in that case rather than on a Insigne who'd have to rotate with Son who is one of the first names on the teamsheet.

We need to improve the depth of our squad particularly in times of covid and with the amount of games we are getting backed up with.

Being able to bring on a bit of quality and something different has been a huge downfall, so I’m all for loans and deals like this if we can get them.

I know us fans can be a bit sniffy if the player isn’t A1 star performer, but as many has said it’s better than options we currently have and better than options many have on their benches. If it happens I wouldn’t be too disappointed.
