Juve and Barca both enquired after Aubameyang. Looks like Morata is on the move.

Morata now. We are so second rate.
This right here encapsulate the problem with our fans atm. A player playing at a club who gazumped us for Vlahovic, is wanted by a club who gazumped us for Traore, and is the lead striker for a country who isn't too shabby, isn't good enough for us.
Yet when we try to sign top quality, Diaz, our fans bemoan are ineptness for even trying, and state unequivocally that we should be making smart investments in the tier below top tier, to be more like Dortmund or Leipzig etc
Club can't win.

If Morata was coming in to replace Kane i wouldnt be too pleased. But if he is available on loan to compete with Kane, its an absolute no brainer.

Morata is like the notion of 'Spursy' embodied in a footballer. Looks good, occasionally does something great, but when it comes down to the big moments will mentally collapse and let you down.

He isn't good enough and he is only Spain's striker because of lack of options. They haven't had a good 9 since Villa.

Playing alongside Kane he would be very good imo. His link up play and creativity from the 9 position is strong and he’d allow Kane to really stay up top and focus on his job. He could also spell Kane too which is what we need.

But Conte doesn’t like him, he doesn’t like Conte and this just won’t happen.

Yeah it's really strange because he never performs consistenly at any of them. Great agent I suppose.

Sincerely hope not. Complete rub out in the EPL last time and fell out with Conte. Just stay clear.

The thing is buddy, do we actually try to sign top quality players? Or do we really just fuck about? We always, always low ball every club for a player then think we are smart fuckers that can wait until the dying breaths of the window to get the deal over the line. Liverpool have fucking schooled us in signing Diaz. If you really want a player and that player has a price then pay the frigging price. We could have had Traore snapped up weeks ago ffs had we offered the extra 4m quid that Wolves were looking. It’s fucking shocking.

This is Levy’s play book year after year, pretending that we are going for the big players yet always falling short. Yet, some muppets seem to keep falling for that same old routine hook, line and sinker!!

If this is the best FP can find after 6 months then god help us. Was next to useless at chelsea in a much better team. Would be woeful in our team with the lack of quality we already have.

And the problem with our fans is that there are too many pussies like yourself who are afraid to call Levy out on over 20 years of failure.

You know - the ‘Dont want to do a Leeds / Look where we were in the 90s / But we have got a lovely, shiny stadium and training ground’ brigade.

We are a fucking football club ffs!!!

100% agree. This whole "we were bottom mid table in the 90s" argument should stop. Our revenues, global image and ambitions are not the same as what we had in "the 90s". This narrative is just repeatedly being pushed so that some set of fans can look down upon another set.

So what's your suggestion? Who do we sign to appease you?

Barry my friend, sorry for the delay in replying but I had a spot of tennis this evening

Anyway, it really isn’t up to me to decide who we sign. All I want is for our owners to back the fucking manager.

Just for once.

For what it’s worth though, I’d be banking on AC’s reputation in Italy and I’d be targeting soon to be out of contract leaders - De Vrij, Brozovic, Belotti, Milenkovic for example. All should be reasonably easy targets.

We have needed a creative midfielder since Eriksen left. So guess what, I’d offer Christian a deal on a pay as you play basis that also suited his medical situation. Let’s see if he is fit and able and has still got it. It’s a no lose situation for both parties.

As for RWB, Kyle Walker Peters would be my choice and wouldn’t cost a fortune.

As for a striker, well it would have been Vlahovic for me but probably not realistic if he wanted Juve. Diaz would have been a good backup. Watch us gurn when he turns out to be the new Salah.

But fuck what I think. If AC wants Traore then fucking pay the asking price. Don’t fuck around over 5m quid. If Jose wanted Skriniar, sign Skriniar rather than the cheap option Rodon.

I can’t scream this loud enough but our owners need to BACK THE FUCKING MANAGER.

Or pass on the baton to someone who can.

Look I know how the club's been run in the past, but "this" window it genuinely looks like the players had other preferred destinations, and no matter how much we offered, or when, they would have gone to the clubs of their choosing. How can you blame the club for that?

So explain the Traore fiasco to me then?

We had clearly put in our usual low ball bid so that suggests to me that he was a player that AC had identified and had requested.

And numerous media outlets have also reported that we had agreed personal terms with the player. Again, that would suggest that Traore was open to the move.

But 3 weeks of haggling over 4-5m quid gave Barca the opportunity to steal him from under our noses. Considering he is Spanish, it’s no surprise that he would choose Barca over us. Most players probably would to be fair.

But the situation where Traore had a choice to make should never have been allowed to happen. The sheer incompetence of our owners/management here is staggering. You can only imagine what AC thinks about it all.
