If we are in such a strong position and the man with the money pulls out then I can't see Conte hanging around. If we have such an opportunity and don't take it that is as strong a statement to the coach that we have no intention of supporting him in his ambition for the club.

I imagine he wants to finish the season strongly and give himself the opportunity to earn the most lucrative contract. He may also want more to time to settle and find a house etc when moving countries as it’s quite a big thing to manage. It’s not a binary choice.

this is my biggest fear with this. If this is pretty much a non negotiable for conte and levy wont sanction it this jan. we are completely fucked. I think Levy will sanction it near the end of January or with a bad loss to Arsenal. The thing I will say about Levy right now and it's kind of frustrating is it seems he is just reactive, not proactive

Surely it can potentially get to a point where we can want him all we want, Levy included even, but if more and bigger clubs become involved and he simply ends up wanting to go elsewhere that all becomes irrelevant.

It's never felt like a deal happening to me in all respect but I've also always thought if it were happen at least some sort of agreement would have to be struck this month.
