gomez didn't get beaten by it. Sorry to be petty but it's like the whole "zakora" debarcle. I could excuse poor spelling of pav but gomes is a short, easy name

Great effort by the lads tonight. With a braver ref we might well have earned a place in the next round but it wasn't to be.

Bring on Utd on Saturday and another European tour next season!

Good effort, great experience for Obika to start a 1st team match. Lovely goal by Dos Santos should give him some confidence.

Roll on sunday.......my nerves are already jangling.

I'm quite happy with that score considering the team we had.

Good effort lads.

I'm pleased with the performance , but thought Palacios was very poor, he had a big responsibility as one of the few more experienced players and didn't really do enough. I could be wrong, was a terrible picture and qa bit stop start so I may have missed some things.

We played well. Would have liked to have seen Mason come on though at some stage. Can't believe Ramos did not register Taarabt for the Uefa cup, he would have been perfecy for this game.

The kids did well! Parrett was impressive when he came on... Good performance all round! Shame about the ref eh?

I wouldn't say I'm happy that we're out, I'll just say I'm relieved we've only got the PL to concentrate on after Sunday. We need to stay in this fucking league.

I think Obika looked good, held the ball up well, and some nice touches. Campbell hasn't impressed me to be honest again tonight.
Parrett looked good again, not afraid to get stuck in. Palacios faded in the 2nd half, looked tired.
Final thing, Gilberto was good tonight, his best performance.

totally agree about palacios - I thought he was way off form tonight - gave the ball away cheaply when we were in good positions.

Tough playing in the center for 90 minutes on both Monday and Thursday - understandably out of gas toward the end..

We did play very well, the kids showed more hunger and desire than the first team have all season.

The biggest problem for me though was the selection of Campbell. Not that he was that terrible (although he wasn't great, Obika was better) but surely we should be giving our own kids experience in this sort of game, not Man Utd's. Mason could have played there, or Gio with Townsend on the wing. Shame.

yep - good performacee

great goal by gds

booked himself a place on the wembley bench I hope

(I'd prefer him to Bentley - but I think that won't happen)

hope o'hara starts instead of bentley - maybe more realistic

guess partly will depend on how jamie copes physically with recovering from this game

should make the bench anyway

ok taarabt it is to start then :)

The referee was an absolute disgrace tonight. Dont know if he was under instruction by UEFA and Platini (as we all know how much he hates English football and the premiership!) to do his upmost not to let us progress as we were fielding a weakend team. We should have had 2 penalties maybe 3!

On the plus side I thought we played really well from 30 minutes onwards, Obika looks a very good prospect and thought Gio and Gilberto and Campbell had best games in our shirts. Shame we are out but now does just leave us league to concentrate on after Sunday which at end of the day far more important than the Uefa!

I hadn't thought of that, maybe was a factor, but a Premier League player should be able to handle 2 games in 3 days, no different to playing on a Sunday and Wednesday really.
