Completely agree, I know there's a few ones he might debate such as Alder for Jan or trying to get Winks in but if he tinkers and loses then he's going to cause himself more aggro. If we play same 11 and lose then so be it because sometimes you lose to the better team but don't tinker and lose.

You look teams like Palace that have no choice but to stick with the same eleven most games and you see the benefits of it.They don't light up the league but they're pretty solid considering their squad / transfer budget. Consistency is KEY.

He will but I don’t necessarily think he should. No more than 2/3 changes barring injuries for me.
Toby for jan lamela for Lucas maybe something like that??
I'm with you, he will but he shouldn't.
Id start Dier and drop Ndombele or Sissoko.
Want that defensive steel in front of back 4 and I dont think Sissoko and Winks or Ndombele are strong enough.
I'd keep the defence the same and the top 4 has to stay the same.
Wouldnt surprise me if RB and LB change again as well and thats not a good idea imo.
If that fkin diamond raises its head again I swear to God.

big shout out to Davinson Sanchez, he really showed the energy and urgency that our defense has been missing for some time

he needs more games to maintain his mojo

So @wrd thinks Pochettino will pick the same side? Really?
Don't know if @wrd thinks Poch will pick the same side, just like many of us, that he should.
The constant changes are terrible and it doesn't make sense to even consider bringing in the likes of Eriksen and Rose, for Lamela and Davies (for example).
That's one of the reason that Poch has been pissing people off - no continuity.

With both the players and the system played.

Look at City and the dippers

If we play that formation and the majority of those players who started tonight, and actually train all week to do so I think we'll give them a game. If Poch has another Einstein moment on how he can change things around in some kind of tactical masterclass we are fucked.

As I've said many times now the players biggest issue has been the change of system they don't think works and being asked to play roles they are not comfortable playing.

This is something he should build on, keep it to a system the players are comfortable with and understand. It will be far easier if we do.

Yep Poch needs to continue being brave - for me now unless we really really have to Eriksen and Alderweireld should not be in the match day squad even.

Rose I’m on fence about as have feeling he wanted to stay and has been mismanaged - he was also one of few at end of last season who showed any passion and putting in good performances, although would prefer Davies as first choice at present.

Vertonghen I feel also wants to be here and should have been rewarded with a new deal over the summer to boost him, and I’ve said before quite fancy giving him and Sanchez a run as although Sanchez isn’t yet as good as prime Toby, he has a lot more potential than current Toby and is the future if developed properly. And I’d prefer Tanganga given a chance to deputise if need be, gotta move on from Toby now no matter how painful as he is the last and not committed enough.

Hopefully Lo Celso can continue his recovery as I feel he will be another BIG player for us and is a Poch
player as well.

The same team could play Liverpool, play exactly he same way and get hammered tae feck. It's not about team selection, we have a strong squad - it's about team solidarity and the quality of the opposition.
At any other point i'd agree, but our problems go beyond just tactics at the moment. We need to start developing some continuity both in system and team selection.

I just disagree with the absolute certainty of 0 chance it will happen. Theres reasons to believe we have no need to. Home game on a tuesday, we play sunday and we have no midweek game either. To say theres a 0 chance is basically saying its impossible and I dont see it that way.

Ndombele was the best player on the pitch for me, absolute quality, quick passer of the ball and he brings a whole new dimension to our play

Expect a different side Sunday tbh would park the bus there then take a sneaky 1-0 win on counter for us in last minute so no coming back or even the point Kane rescued with that penalty there couple of years back.

Good to see the flow back tonight but realism says away to Anfield is the toughest of tests but least it's not after Bayern's mauling glad Poch got this tonight deserves our time COYS!!

Totally agree.
His decisions on Sunday are going to make or break a lot of fans.
If he makes sweeping changes to personnel, or formation, he's setting himself up for abuse.
This team has just put in our best team performance for a long time. They have plenty of time to rest, so give them a chance to do it again, or at least try.

Will that be enough or has the players frustration gone passed the point of no return?

Find it hard to say that was brave from Poch. Anyone can see his system hasnt been working so it was either change it or be unemployed in the foreseeable future. That's just doing what you're paid to do.

Totally agree re: Toby and CE.

He shouldn't be dropped now. Even if he has a bad game. Build his confidence and familiarity back up. Centre backs need to play week in week out and have stability to really get the best out of them, although whether that's with Jan or not who knows

I think him and Jan were doing great until Toby came back from injury. After that he's been half the player. Maybe knocked his comfidence?

The difference was the desire to run, to press, to push them back with aggression. The hunger was back and it was the most pleasing to see. Note the difference in Kane's work rate in comparison with Watford. I think it was the most important ingredient recently missing in the team.
