Just for a bit of fun really...how up or down does Spurs get you?

Any funny or good stories of smashing TV's and strops and/or absolute euphoria from supporting our absolutely mad rollercoaster of a football club?

Personally when I was younger late teens and early 20's I let Spurs performances and results really get to me, as I've 'matured' so to speak I'm a lot more balanced generally with the ups and downs of our performances and results.

I do remember not speaking to a few Gooner mates when they beat us early 2010's I think when Adebeyor scored early on then proceeded to get a red card and we collapsed, just lost my head with them in a bar that day and walked out after 70mins and didn't speak to them for a few weeks was about the most annoyed I've gotten.

Best 'highs' were:
-Carabao cup final win over Chelsea
-Most good NLD's like the 4-4 and 2-3 at their gaff and the more recent times home wins
-Crouch's goal at the Etihad to take us into 4th place for the first time in the PL (went out with some mates that night absolutely epic, singing Spurs songs all night, at the time felt like we'd won the league)
-Beating Chelsea at Home in the league for the first time in ages, I think it was a Dawson header and Aaron Lennon yellow/gold booted finish, the atmosphere pre, during and post that match was like nothing I've ever known.
-Gareth Bale destroying Inter Milan
-Final season and final game at the lane brough some tears
-CL Semi final was just utter disbelief and euphoria as to what I'd just seen and knowing I'd be going to Madrid to see Spurs play in a CL final
-When we signed Van Der Vaart, Keane and Defoe I was over the moon with all of those signings at the time

Some 'lows':
-The late 90's and 00's against Chelsea and Arsenal when we took some brutal losses wasn't fun
-Being furious when Mendes scored from the half-way line and Carroll threw it 5 yards over the line but it wasn't given!
-When Chelsea beat Bayern in the CL final knocking us out of the CL positions
-Losing to Portsmouth in the FA Cup Semi Final under Redknapp
-Being at games against the likes of West Brom etc when their goalkeepers used to take literally minutes with every goal kick and the rage just building up
-Battle of the Bridge when we imploded and threw away our last title hope
-Coming 3rd in a 2 horse race travelling up to Newcastle and seeing us lost 5-1 on the final day to somehow finish 3rd after being in the title race with Leicester all season

Moods after frustrating losses have been known to last a good few days :ROFLMAO:

Some just crazy and/or 'Spursy' games:
-Losing 3-5 to Man.U when 3-0 up at HT!
-Losing 3-4 to Man City when 3-0 up at HT and they were down to 10 men!
-Our 4-4 125 year anniversary home game against Villa under Jol
-6-3 against Reading
-Selling Berbatov and replacing him with Fraser Campbell
-Lasagnegate
-9-1 against Wigan
-The Man.City CL Quarter Final
-The CL Semi-Final vs Ajax 2nd leg

No particularly funny stories but certainly a fair share of ups and downs and emotional rollercoasters!

Any ups, downs, Spurs games or moments or OTT anger or euphoria or funny emotional moments when supporting Spurs you guys would like to share?

Man City disallowed goal in the CL was the one where I went through the whole gambit of emotions semi recently.

TBH I don't get that down or angry about Spurs or football in general. I'm sure there's a time it did have a negative effect on me, but the "it's only game" simply became true for me at some point.

I took my dad and mate to the Chelsea game and after 20 minutes I thought we were set for a comfortable win and was really enjoying the occasion.

Once it all turned around, I just got behind the players and enjoyed it.

There were a handful of fans around me shouting vitriol at the ref and officials. I just don't see the point in getting so angry about something like football.

I’ll always remember going absolutely mental watching the 1999 Worthington Cup final vs Leicester in a snooker club with my mates from school. I would have been two months from my 16th birthday but could get served in there at the time as they didn’t seem to care about the drinking laws. I ran a lap of the place when Nielsen scored the winner! Even my mate who supported West Ham was loving it and hugging everyone, mainly due to his hatred for Robbie Savage who had got Edinburgh sent off in the second half.

Weird one, last few years it’s really affected me.
When we got knocked out of the conference league agaisnt a team is never heard of whose manager was in prison hurt, took a while to get over that.
Compare to Monday night, I sat smiling all the way through the second half, even at the end it felt like a win.

The CL semi was an all time high for me, I remember watching on a stream and my father in law texting to me towards the end saying “COYS!!!!!” (Not a spurs fan fyi) and I thought we’d scored. Such a weird feeling of elation but not knowing, then 5 mins went by and I thought maybe we hadn’t. Then we did. Such a roller coaster. Loved it.

When we lose I avoid all football until the next game outside of being here. Hits me like a truck really, even more so now because ange has given me renewed hope. If ever a club deserved some glory it’s us, regardless though nothing is better than being spurs, nothing.

When crouch scored vs city to put us in the CL for the first time, I shouted so hard I nearly passed out and had to sit down quietly and gather myself before going again.
It was close after Moura’s hat trick goal against Ajax also.
Literally heady times lol

Yea that crouch goal to this day is probably the most I’ve ever celebrated a goal, it was the build up to it as well those big games against Arsenal and Chelsea and others I think when Gomes was incredible and then having to go away to city when crouch knocked that in me and my mates went absolutely mental in a bar and then went on a big night out, felt like we’d won the league.

still remember screaming the c word in front of wife and kids when Ballotelli scored for city in the 3-2 game where he stamped on Parker. Convinced we’d have won the league if we won that game, never going to believe otherwise

I put on such a show of volcanic wrath after the injury-time defeat to Kaiserslautern in 1999 that all those who cross the threshold of chez Nine are strictly forbidden by my co-habitants to utter the words 'Youri Djorkaeff' within my earshot, lest there be a repeat.

Thankfully, he doesn't come up much in conversation, so all good there.

Still fucking cross, mind.

Think my lowest point was seeing us limp out of the CL to Milan last season.

Not so much for the result but the complete lack of intent, desire and overall sense that we (the fans) had completely lost connection with the 11 on the pitch.

I remember sitting halfway up the south stand watching us at 0-0 and desperate for a goal taking off attackers for another defender.

Yes we’ve had mediocrity for most of my Spurs supporting life but something about that final 15mins just broke me.

I’m one of the worst around for having results impact my mood - it really is bad no matter how hard I try to not let it impact me.

The lows -

Arse at home, conceding an equaliser when leading against 10 men

Lasagnagate (after the game at Highbury where we should’ve beaten the scum after leading and playing really well) - cost us CL football

Sevilla away in the EL

Kaiserslautern away back in the day

Blackburn and Chelsea league cup final defeats

West Ham at home under Jose - 3 up with 10 mins to play and draw.

PSV away penalty loss in the EL.

Portsmouth FA Cup semi

I could go on for days!!

The highs

1991 semi victory against the scum

Chelsea home 5-1 league cup semi win

Worthington cup final victory - sat in front of Billy Nich and got to hug the big man.

Beating the scum 5-1 in the league cup semi

beating the other scum in the final when woody scored

The wins against Chelsea Arsenal and City in quick succession which got us CL football for the first time.

inter at home in the CL

Milan away (Crouch scored and we won)

3-0 win against the scum the season before last when we snatched top four from them

City away in the CL

AJAX away in the CL

Leicester away (Bergwijn)

in short - following spurs is not good for your blood pressure!
