I don’t think we ever have any issues in attracting players and buying them into the project. It’s when we get to the negotiating stage, where we dither and try play a game of chess, ultimately missing out on the signing.

Also - aside from any ITK, has there even been any credible links to him this window? Seems like most of the rumours are coming from the other lot down the road.
Agreed. Our ITKs are positive but that’s about it - normally you see some journos talking about it, but it’s all Arsenal

I kind of feel that if one or other of us get him this window, they’ll likely be the one that finishes ahead of the other. Vital time

Out of interest, what do you mean by this? I wasn’t totally sure
I think it was in the January window of 2009 and we’d been very heavily linked with him as had Arsenal and on deadline day he was holed up at a London Hotel in snowy weather and he late on signed for them.

Worth repeating.

He would be mad to leave now. He is on fire with a contract running down .

Once mbappe and haarlands futures are decided In the summer He will have his pick of the whole world. Why would he choose between two clubs who aren't even in European competitions at the moment?

Maybe he is a lifelong scum fan or loves kane but otherwise I expect him to end up at a super club in the summer or the one after.

Why would he have a pick of sides in the summer? He'll still have a year on his contract so teams still need to agree a fee with Fiorentina.

From the perspective of YT clip of this sason goals ,slim info I accept , this bloke doesn't seem to have the kind of surgically accurate shot that Kane and many great scorers have in their locker .His pens are also not in the same league . Further, the Italian defences he was scoring against seemed lacking . Not sure he'd see that kind of space in the Prem .

Very big and athletic that's an advantage...but I wouldn't be tempted into a giant bucks outlay myself.

I've decided he is my new favourite spurs player. Slight fly in the old ointment if he isn't our player.

The full quote isn’t as positive:

«During talks with Tottenham, it was made clear that Vlahovic would love to work under Antonio Conte, but playing in the Champions League is more important to the 21-year-old, and while he could be convinced to join a team in the Europa League, the expectation is that he will end up joining a team in Europe's premier competition.»

This won’t happen unless levy’s hand is forced this window externally ! we will be competitive for him in the summer but it doesn’t mean we get him even if he’s given the club his word. It’s on Daniel this deal

Only one British club can guarantee champions league. Liverpool have also been very consistent for a while. The others have been patchy over the years despite the strength of Chelsea today. Nothing is guaranteed Dusan!

Thanks What lies beneath, worried now that Levy will make an horse's ass of this. What externally could force him?

4 (possibly 5) clubs will be able to offer CL Football next season though which I assume he was referring to.
