to be fair, we have really beaten the bottom of the table.

Tougher matches ahead - and so there will always be a few doubts amongst the pundits.

If we are still top of the table at Christmas - pundits will start talking more positively.
True. But ‘tougher’ matches, is also tantamount to opportunity. Playing against teams that will attack us, leaves the very vulnerable, if and when we will break their press. A lot of teams we’ve played so far have settled into a low block. We can expect similar from Palace. Chelsea though will bring it. And if we can manage that, they will be very shaky defensively. I can us opening them up easily a few times in that match.

We have no one to fear. No one. Just keep playing our way, come what may.

Far more important than the Chelsea game is Palace. We desperately need those three points, with some harder games coming up. It gives us a nice cushion. So, I hope Ange has the lads (albeit on 3 days rest) ready to go hard at them from the start. As an early lead will see them capitulate.

Calm down mate, of course you can have your own opinion.

I can also disagree and have mine too.

You said it was a ‘hard watch’ which I didn’t agree with. You then went on to elaborate and say it was a ‘tough watch at times and our passing was sloppy etc’, which I agree with.

Your original comment made it seem like you thought the whole game was a tough watch which given we’ve had to endure matches under Nuno where we have no plan and have literally not had a single shot then for me a match where we dominated possession had 15 shots and scored 2 nice goals and won 2-0 is not something I’d consider a ‘hard watch’.

Have a good evening.

We are top of the league, lighten up, smile, relax those facial muscles.
I’m calm. Yes mate you can have your opinion for sure, it’s the use of emojis I’m your first post that came across as very patronising. Like you say though, top of the league and I am well pleased .

Richy had a good game today, probably his best game this season. I would rather he starts and hope for him to continue his progress.
Wouldn't be against Johnson starting ahead of Deki, nor would I be surprised considering the miles Deki has in his legs. He looked exhausted at the end of last night. Deki can be as impactful off the bench as we saw last season when returning from injury.

Surprised Pahlinha went off without being booked.
Surprised is an understatement

He could probably have committed GBH tonight and wouldn’t have got a card

Must have committed 8 fouls tonight 3 probably worthy of a yellow on another day - gets away with murder

Maybe the Refs are told to keep him on the pitch as long as possible because without him it would be a walkover and Fulham would be up the river without a paddle

Great to watch us with the hand break off after so many years of dour shite

Yes a little sloppy 2nd half and again we tried to walk it in at times but brilliant to see us popping it about and everyone looking for the ball and playing without fear or like they’re handcuffed

Overall a comfortable win although we took some time to really get it together but never looked as active as usual, all seemed a bit slow.
I wonder if we missed Bisouma making his charges out from deep but then Hojbjerg had a good game and his interceptions brought both goals, the first time pass for the second was terrific.
Actually the most positive thing was probably the subs that came on and dealt with seeing out the game comfortably, perhaps a little drop off going forward but they didn't need to.
A comfortable win whilst not at our best is a great thing.

The subs coming on was the negative for me, really surprised you thought that was positive....

Showed a big drop off imo.

Maybe too many changes but we looked open, disjointed and Fulham looked their most dangerous in that part of the game.

Massive difference - imagine being able to bring Hojbjerg & Bentancur off the bench soon instead!

Squad depth is everything. Thank goodness we’ve got no European footy this season….

This season there has been a few teams who refuse to get involved in a press. It's a reaction to teams like Brighton (and now us this season) who are set up to exploit an overcommitment to the opposition trying to win the ball high. So in the first half Fulham just sand-bagged it, sitting 5 yards inside their half without making any attempt to close down Romero or VDV - they just shuffled side to side. That made it hard to find a player in midfield, and sans Bissouma was probably a good tactic as it's not PEH's strong point to receive the ball in congestion.

This is a little different to the low block and it just gums up midfield rather than being a backs-to-the-wall defensive effort. We've got the quality to break that down eventually, but I'd expect to see more teams refusing to engage our CBs.

Thought PEH did quite well, but still quite a step down from bissouma, skipp a further step down.

Maddison and Son really are integral at the moment, anything happens to them and I'm not convinced by the backups.

Richarlison looks like he couldn't score in a brothel.

Vicario looked excellent and the vice captain responsibility seems to be doing Romero the world of good.
PEH is definitely a step down when asked to perform the same role, but I think PEH is unfairly maligned as I just don’t think he’s a No.6.

You could see he doesn’t show for the ball and struggles to take it on the half turn and we ended up playing the ball wider more often than we usually have under Ange because of this. However, PEH excels in pressing higher up the pitch and has contributed to so many goals in the past by winning the ball back of the opposition centre backs. He also a tidy finisher. The problem for me is that the type of player he is doesn’t easily fit into the starting eleven. He’s great to come on and try and close a game out, but I think he deserves better than that so I think he’ll move on the in Jan

People keep banging on the ‘we’ve only beaten the bottom teams’ drum and it’s getting tiring. Have some forgot we’ve played utd, Arsenal and Liverpool and come away with 7 points. Do we only earn validation when we play Villa, Newcastle and City?

From an opposition point of view I don't think many can believe how well we've started and are afraid to say it so they need to find something they can use against us.

In this case they are scraping the barrel with bottom teams excuse.
