soldado paulinho lamela all good players but they dont have the character , mentality and ability to dominate a game for us and change it. we are missing that game chnager imvho. it costs money to replace that , thats the signing i want , not a like for like. wont get it in january but at least somone who commits players and can score goals because we still cant score for shit from midfield imo apart from siggs.

Only couple of games but against Swansea (home), i think from memory, it was one of the earlier games anyway and definately vs Stoke Paulinho showed glimpses of an ability to run games. Unfortunately there has also been speculation over Real Madrid monitoring his progress, so we may only get another season out of him. Its nothing to cry over, Levy's model is the Ajax/Dortmund model, combining local academy talent with punts on young or out of favour players, building their career up then selling on.

Until the new stadium is built we cant compete financially and even CL football wouldnt help that much.

At least we have a structure in place that is relatively successful in identifying up and coming talent that will develop well at the club. Something we as a club arent given enough credit for not least by our own fans

Well for once, we don't have any glaring hoes in our squad and with injured players returning, Sherwood willing to utilise one of the best academy crops we've potentially produced and a host of summer signings still finding their feet there is no real need to do anything.

What happened to him? Whenever I used to see him he played well. Could defend and decent going forward. I remember when he came from nowhere to play in a pre season friendly ages ago, against Dortmund I think, and thought we had one here.

Another Philip Ifil, maybe.

Really can't see much happening at all.
Depends if anything becomes available, because everyone wants top dollar for their players, and we know Levy only ever wants to pay bottom dollar for top players.

Then I believe we may see some activity in a few areas of the pitch that need some slight attention (defence - LB, maybe a striker to replace Defoe), although I do believe TS is happy with Kane stepping up, he seems to rely on these youngsters and willing to drop them in at the deep end to see how they do.

QUite refreshing to see in all honesty, I don't remember the last time we saw one of our own go through to the first team for proper chances... (livermore, Rose, Townsend, Bentalab - any more recently?)

I think its finally happened - the system has been broken. We've had every single type of transfer window from crushing disappointments to spending over £100m. We've had every permutation of wummery from false rumours to the king wum of them all, Levy. Finally a peaceful transfer window.
