Can't see the point in Hernandez. He'd surely go from their bench to ours. He'll want to be first choice wherever he goes. I think he'll go on loan somewhere initially. Rooney and RVP can't be far away.

That would make Monaco the only option then.
They loaned Traore to Everton and Falcao is out for season.
Either that or Atletico are going to sell Diego Costa in the next 72 hours......

Athletico wont sell Costa in Jan. I agree Monaco seems to make sense all round.

Pretty sure Moyes said in press conf yest that Rooney and RVP are training again and possibly back in squad for tonight.

Didn't see that..Well then.....i guess they could get away with selling him.

While he is younger than Soldado/Ade he still wouldn't be a clear cut upgrade to either, so he would move from the bench at United to the bench for us. Not sure he would want to do that with the WC coming up.

Monaco have already hit their limit of non-europeans (Falcao, Ocampos, Rodriguez, Fabinho, and Elderson) which is why Traore was sent on loan. So they couldn't use Hernandez.

Hernandez would be an awesome signing ... an impact sub who's energetic and can finish.

I'm unfortunately friends with a few diehard Manure fans and they class him as Utd's 2nd best natural finisher, and would rather sell Wellbeck.

But if it's like PL and you can register/un-register a player once transfer window shuts then surely with Falcao out injured for season they will just remove him......

I also work with 3 diehard mancs, 1 of which is a season ticket holder, rates Hernandez, fantastic movement and finishing but his first touch lets him down too often to be classed in the top bracket.

No thanks, basically a slightly better Defoe. What we need is back-up to Ade, a player who can lead the line which would allow us to be flexible if Ade got injured. We already have a "natural finisher" in Soldao to give us that option.

Thats what i thought but reading elsewhere there seems to be the opinion that the French (go figure) have made the rules needlessly complex.

So it wouldn't be as simple as dropping Falcao for the rest of the season, it would be more along the lines of saying one of the players wouldn't be with the team beyond the end of the season as well as potentially another consideration.

don't know enough about the French league to say what is what though.

no new quality striker equals no CL - relying on a hot and cold Adebayor(putting to one side the threat of possible injury) a totally misfiring Soldado and Harry fecking Kane is just plain dumb.
Its goals that get you qualified and even with a fragile up turn in the last half a dozen games we are very weak
in this department. Our goals scored is the joint worst in the top 9 and much worse than those currently in the top 4, not to mention Utd have RVP, Rooney and Mata all about to kick in.

We can't afford to have 3 quality strikers and I agree that he's not good enough to be in the top bracket but nevertheless, he's a clear upgrade on Defoe and we would be stupid to turn down the chance to sign him. He's an affordable and attainable version of Tevez ... a bit like a Jack Russell, always chasing after the ball and harrassing the defenders.

Let's face it, there's a lack of Ade type players about and we have Kane, who's beefed up and shown enough in his cameo appearances that he's capable of holding the ball up and scoring goals.

Hernandez is a good player and definitely better than the likes of Vucinic, Long lol, and any of the other 'one last pay check' strikers we've been linked with.

What will he cost? Around £12m? Well worth it ... better than spending £20m on hit and miss, sulky Benteke.

Hernandez is nothing like Tevez. I'd take Vucinic over Hernandez all day long aswell.

Would much prefer Berba than Hernadez for the remainder of the season, especially as Defoe is still around for a while and is a similar player to Hernandez...

See, long term I'd agree but short term, I'd take a player that is used to the league.
See what you're saying, but when RVP is injured, and United play Wellbeck (not as good a finisher but with better hold-up play) ahead of him, it kinda tells its own story of what is needed from a front man in modern systems. The 'fox in the box' type player is now becoming obsolete, mainly used as impact subs, we have Soldado for that.

Adebayor is crucial as the focal point in our attack and as such, if he was injured for any length of time, there is no able substitute for his attributes.

Ergo, Hernandez, a nice pacy and direct option to bring on ala Defoe, isn't the type of striker we should be targeting.
