ELY, I think I posted elsewhere that I believe we will be using many of our squad for half games in the coming weeks. That is an attribute of a good coach. Timing and order. Apparently Bentley is fit, so if he did play, I am confident we would get the same sort of performance as last season for the games he played...holding the ball well and holding up an end, so to speak, while Bale gets forward on the left. We regularly bring King in from nowhere. I feel Lennon could be a liability away on his present form. None of our three forwards gives me much confidence at present so as I said half games are the go.
Tell Pav to go 'all out' (an oxymoron I know:) then rotate.

agree...but...

a good coach knows when to throw players in,
Bentley , 1st game, would probably be suited against wolves at home, rather than CL hotbed.we will have 70%posession v wolves and bentley would have time to cross to crouch.
we will need azza's pace as an outlet in germany, counter-attacking will be vital.

Bellamy failed to exploit him. Kaboul looked very suspect against arsenal, Chelsea and Wigan

look i'm not suggesting Kaboul is danny alves, but give him credit as to how he played bellamy.

corluka needs to be replaced imo,

kaboul is quick and strong at least, i think he could do a job...short term,
jan window please address harry.

Just because Kaboul is stronger and quicker than Charlie doesn't mean he'll match up better against Marin. Every time we come up against a side with a tricky/quick winger everyone wants Corluka out of the side, but why? I don't recall Charlie ever getting a roasting from anyone. Personally I think Kaboul would get turned inside-out by Marin.

I don't agree, he was very poor on the ball last week and looked rushed all the time. Kaboul is not good enough at right back. Emergency cover perhaps, but not near Corluka in quality stakes

done ok with Bellamy:shrug:

Fair point, fair point. I think Marin's got more up his sleeve than Bellamy but I take your point.

Kaboul has 110% won me over to be honest. When we re-signed him I thought "oh... ok, he'll be ok as backup short term but we'll sell him on again at some point soon!" but no, I'd be really disappointed if we were to offload him now.

I thought he played well against West Brom yesterday, granted they're no Barcelona, or whatever, but I thought he looked assured at centre back too. a reliable backup option to King/Gallas/Daws/Bassong (the latter is a bit of a forgotten man currently).

So yeah, I wouldn't be disappointed at all if he was on the team sheet at RB against Bremen on Tuesday.

well i disagree. being strong and quick is an important criteria for a defender in the MODERN game, yes its not a reason to say he will mark marin, but it helps.

surely you can see corluka has been poor?
he just seems so fucking slow, almost like he is daydreaming.

i would give kaboul a chance, seeing charlie has been so poor.

Looking at the two posts after I put my team up, I would have been very tempted with Keane but wasn't sure if my biase towards him was ruling me!
