for example, to show we are not "weak" would you rather we played our full season over 2 months? or use the full season to spread the games out over.

Well that's obviously a ridiculous argument as it's impossible. I was just making the point that while it might be nice to get an extra day off, Swansea City who are playing in Europe for the first time and who play the Sunday before boxing day then play on boxing day, feel they're strong enough to play on the following Saturday. And obviously the 12 other teams who play on boxing day can play the saturday. I will note though, that we also play on the sunday prior to boxing day, along with Everton and Southampton, which is the exact fixture that was moved to the Sunday after boxing day along with us. So it looks like it's a rest thing as all three of us have our fixtures closest together whereas the 12 other teams have it easier. However, Swansea are the exception.

Can't believe my thread was bumped, I thought it was dead in the water.
Yeah it's always shit that we have to play on Sundays when not coming off a Europa match, however on this occasion I will half accept it, as ours is a clear TV game and Chelsea play on Saturdays Sky 17.30 TV slot and they play on Tuesday in the CL, so they need to play Saturday. Of course, the obvious solution to a situation like this one, is sell the bloody game to BT and show us on Saturday at 12.45, but obviously Sky have more money to offer and so we're stuck with it.

I'm bumping your thread again in celebration of a SATURDAY 3 PM KO.

This is what a weekend should feel like.

Yeah, it's my biggest gripe with Spurs. We need to get a chairman who will stand up to the TV moguls. Tradition shouldn't be underestimated.

We traditionally play on a Saturday
We're traditionally shit
We traditionally finish mid table
We traditionally have no hope

Sundays is for catnapping on the sofa, a lunchtime pint, roast dinner, having a massive poo, another kip and then fondling the mrs breasts as she washes up.

Ahh the good old days.

I'd laugh if @SpursManChris was busy today.
I don't have the option of attending, living in Australia. That's the funny thing, the fact that I started this thread, I'm sure, has lead to people assuming I'm some local London supporter who cannot get to the games on a Sunday and I'm sure you're one of them. I'm just someone who understands that there are supporters who cannot.

I had but your position actually makes a bit more sense now as the Sunday games will for you be at stupid o'clock on a Monday morning

correct. So it does affect me too, but not nearly as much as a supporter who would like to go to matches but can't because it's a sunday.

So are you suggesting there's an element of selfishness in the argument? The argument of when the game falls can be applied to any day whether that's a Saturday or a Sunday. Perhaps more thought should be given to those that play football on Saturdays and therefore struggle to get to Saturday games.
