At the start of the season, I thought that this would finally be our year, as we would be playing all our home games at our spanking new world class stadium.

Never did it cross my mind that we would create a new record home loss in our first home CL game of the season. What a downer it has been today.

The only thing I blame Poch for is the diamond. The fact that Rose, Verts, Toby, Aurier and Eriksen most likely won't be here next season is not his fault.

How in God's green earth do you concede seven goals at home, and with the best CB partnership in the league at the heart of our defence.

Well that went well...

I really am not saying there is anything positive from tonight. My only hope is that was such a public embarrassment in front of a global audience, that NO ONE at this club can carry on in denial any more. From Levy down, through Poch, the players even the kit men. Get back to chuffing basics the lot of yer.

So let’s some up ...

Toby is looking done,
Verts is looking done,
Eriksen wants out.

We ain’t getting nothing back for these three.

Aurier is a liability,
Rose wants out,
Harry Winks has potential but not sure if he is a starter for us at the minute.

Reckon we would get 40 odd million for the three immediately above.

You are probably looking at spending 260m at least to replace the above 6 players leaving a bottom line net spend of 220m.

We have also needed a back up striker for the last 2 seasons now so add another 60m.

Could be the start of a tough few seasons really.

If we are looking at selling anyone with high bankability I would sell Alli all day long. The guy just wants to feature in youtube clips.

And to think we, I, had the cheek to laugh at Arsenal.

It's all or nothing with some of you isn't it. Something is wrong. We don't know who, what or why. They are mostly good players and Poch is a good manager. Let's hope it gets sorted.

The problem with people blaming the contract issues is that Poch is actually playing Eriksen when there’s no need for it. I think there’s a good chance that the issues are that he wants them to stay but the squad doesn’t

If Poch goes, Toby and Jan sign new deals.

with that in mind, Poch needs to go.
What makes you say that? And did you see them out there tonight? And how is their current and future value relative to Poch's? And what would that do for player power? Seems a bad precedent.

I think Majtip and Van Dijk might take issue with your statement.

I've been saying it for 2 years now. Kane has been declining, has been found out and is turning into a penalty taking scorer. He hasnt advanced his game at all since winning the golden boot.
Outrageous statement Kane is pure class, were you at the game sat I hope after that statement it’s no because if you were your talking shite. He’s getting no service still scoring goals his work rate is amazing so you must be talking about Kane who plays at Doncaster. Not buying players in transfer windows a letting contracts down has cost us along with a declining Poch. End of a winless era is coming to an end I hope I’m wrong but we are awful.

I disagree. It's been proven time and time again that money is poor a motivating factor and if the players enjoyed their situation they would stay. We've had ITK over the past year that Vertonghen and Toby have wanted to sign new contracts but Levy and Poch have played hardball. Rose is looking for a way out of a club he's been at for what is it? 12-13 years?

Players who went to the CL fucking final are looking like they started playing football a couple of days ago. This is so much bigger than the players and to me is symptomatic of a complete lack of proper leadership at the club.

I believe my post to be at least partly, but I do agree with you. For Levy has held this club back at crucial moments when he needed to speculate and trust the manager of the player staff, but he has betrayed each manager who has shown the potential of lifting our club to glory at each of those ceucial moments. I think it's now painfully clear that Levy/Lewis/ENIC are into this project for one thing and one thing only, shit loads of cash when they sell the club!!! It's obvious to everyone that events on the pitch do not really matter to them.

Also I know individuals have to accept culpability for mistakes and giving the ball away (plus when chasing the game the structure/balance of the team changes) but for the goals all of Winks, Alderweireld and Aurier are trying to force the play and do something when they have no options to work with.

Contrast that with what Bayern were doing, even when they were behind and under the cosh in the game, just zipping passes to where they know their teammate will be and doing what has been drilled into them in terms of pattern plays and moves worked on in the training ground. We were discussing this a while back when contrasting us to City as well.

Who do you bag more, the individual for making the mistake trying to eek out a pass/play or blame the non-existent foundations and shape to allow us to construct play (particularly out from the back)? It's just a circular shit show for me - failure of tactical stuff alongside individual responsibility.
Agreed.

For me though this is all on Poch. That poxy diamond is just eroding away any confidence the players have. It puts our fullbacks under enormous pressure as they’re exposed constantly, it compresses our game so the opposition have an easy time keeping their shape compact, so when the steal the ball, they have multiple outs, one pass and they’re onto our fullbacks with ease.

His stubborn adherence to the diamond could cost him his job. He needs to go back to what made us a feared unit, 4231.

Mentally we are so gone it will be a miracle coming back from this so humiliating f-ing 7!!! No other team does humiliation better than us and the slide to 90s and early 00s Spurs teams is complete always an ex-goon to apply the salt on a gaping wound. I've seen us take some beatings but no other team let's it get to this state 3 or 4 they may concede but never 7!!! As for Poch as the devotees know the diamond has been cracked and clearly there is no plan B. Trippier eluded to major problems behind the scenes when he left and looks like it's for the world to see tonight sheer shite
