The thing I absolutely hate the most is every time there's a controversial decision it dominates conversation. Pub chat, Talksport, Sky Sports, BT Sports, Twitter, WhatApp groups, forums, news outlets. It's all anyone talks about and it's so fucking boring.

They won't change the rule mid-season so we just have to accept, again, that we're stuck with a broken system.

Ever since VAR was introduced we've had people saying the refs should review incidents on the screens. Now they are we're going to start moaning about them doing it?
All this is so American-look at Basket ball-they the players , play the foul-thats what Carol was doing playing the foul-heading the ball against players to get a touch on an arm. Diving is part of the game , playing the ball against a defenders arm is the next common phase football will go through. VAR is not helping, it encourages.

having slept on it I think the only positive I can take from this is that probably we will benefit from these ridiculous laws at a few points this season and if there’s anyone to coach players to make the most of the chance of winning penalties then it’s Jose.

But we all know they will change the laws the day before we get it

I genuinely think they might. I've never seen such a unity except for that twat souness "I'm a football man"

I hope players start to kick balls at players hands in the area on purpose to get penalties. Then the refs really will be put under the radar even more. If we are the ones to do it and benefit then even better. If you can’t beat them, join them.
I believe they are at it already, Carol was at it yesterday.

We played far better than of late, and looked a lot more cohesive. There was also an obvious game plan that players looked comfortable with. A lot to be positive about. VAR and the stupid handball rule were the only concerning issues from yesterday.

Also concerning was the fact we had some decent chances to make it 2

We out played them - so a positive day. You can't play the ref? The sucker punch was hard to take and unfair. It will even itself out over a season so rather have the shit now and the roses later.

That's not concerning at all. If we didn't create so many chances then yes it would be concerning. But on another day one or more of those go in. I prefer to see us creating chances than not at all.

Did he say it could be good for the game?
He said it creates more goals, gives more controversy and gives them more to talk about in the studio. Words to that effect anyway. If it was Liverpool he’d be furious and want the rule changing immediately. I did like Carraghers commentary though, you could tell how angry he was with it all.

I think they will tweak the interpretation slightly.
Have spoken to a current Premier League Assistant this morning, and he said there is uproar amongst referees in having to adopt these laws.
They are going to put pressure on PGMOL and Premier League

Doesn't appear you wanted to hear any positives after all.

If there's 1 thing I've learnt this weekend it's that a 1 goal margin win (the margin which the vast majority of football games are won) simply do not count and you deserve to be cheated out of the win if you dare try and win by that feeble margin.

Of yesterday’s performance becomes the standard, on the assumption that Harry Kane won’t always see that many on target shots saved (or snatch at so many chances later on), we will win 20-25 matches this season.

I just find it so irritating because I'm looking at the performances of the teams we hope to compete with and we look frankly in much better shape than most and those 2 points could be so critical. I really think we're building something here and to see that shit just leaves a horrible taste.

They're lucky that there are no fans in stadiums at the moment. Would get seriously uncomfortable for the officials.
