All well and good but do we play a player who "doesnt care" or "isnt bothered" just because he can be creative?

I'd rather play Gil in CM.

Will be another cycle of him getting fit, playing, him doing well in a few games and then wanting to leave again next summer.

Sissoko has gone, Aurier I think is going too. I honestly don't think he will stay. It will be so unbearable for him if two of his best mates are gone.

Athletic saying N’Dombele is staying and Sissoko still in London. I can see Aurier staying and believing he will have a pick of choices when he leaves on a free…

If he bucks down and works himself back into the fold, then that's great news.

Can't see neither him or the club interested in him doing a Danny Rose until january.

I do not think it is his overall physical fitness that is the issue at all. I reckon he is probably as fit as a butchers dog after all the pre-season sessions. I think it is about his mindset. He is too laid back and not hungry enough to do the jobs he does not like. For example, players who put their head down (in an attempt to go faster) when they need to make a recovery run is always a sign of a player who is not 100% 'at it'. His body language is terrible, the way he grimaced and hobbled on to the pitch when coming on as a sub last season really grated. If he is anything like that in training no wonder Nuno does not want him near the match day squad. He needs to get that 'eye of the tiger' where he has a burning desire to be 100% at everything he does. Covering full backs, making tackles, getting in position quickly after turnovers etc. Be a focused winner. That is what Nuno demands. If he does get that he is way more talented on the ball than any of our other midfielders and can be one of the best players in the world.

The narrative that Ndombele is lazy on the pitch and a defensive liability is a myth. Many on here would love Bissouma (me as well), but guess who had most defensive actions per 90 between him and Tanguy last season? Yep, Tanguy. More sprints? Tanguy.

That coupled with and outrageous creative talent. Ndombele knuckeling down and working his way to play in a functioning team for the first time during his time here will probably get a better outcome than any creative midfield signing we could do.

But - it’s up to him! Definitely the last chance.

We won today. Top of the table and the filthy Gooners are rock bottom with no points and no goals.

Just reminding certain posters who seem to be overly obsessed with a player who isn’t in our squad and who we are actively trying move on out the club.
And we would won with better style yesterday with Ndombele in the squad

excellent. use him instead of skipp imo, team'll become much better with someone with his technical ability. if you're all okay with kane coming back in then you've no reason to be against tanguy's reintegration

outrageous creative talent whens that going to happen then ? most of the game he hides on the half way line beats a couple of people in areas that don't matter and then disappears for great swathes of games . Though the side needs a midfield player with a bit more licence to create that's looking as though its going to be a wide player and he certainly isn't that and there is no place for him in a midfield 3 because he doesn't have the work rate or defensive nous - atm you can only see him getting an occasional kick as a sub if we are chasing a game and his not that type of player mind you I struggle to work out what type of midfield player he really is or wants to be

Kane will get his head down and work as hard as he always has to be the best he can be.

The chances of NDombele doing similar seems optimistic at best given the previous 2 years.

Every elite pro footballer will do whatever they can to improve themselves. If Tanguy can’t see how the fitness work and mental focus has improved and revived people like Dele, Sanchez, Dier then he needs to change career. At the extreme of this look at the extended careers of supreme footballers like Ronaldo and Zlatan - the modern player is a machine that has to work twice as hard as any player from any other era.

so the issue isn't actually attitude, cos what kane did was far worse than what ndombele's done but he's got the benefit of the doubt (because he's a better player, which is what i wish we'd admit rather than pretending it's a moral thing). and he literally "got his head down and worked hard" to get back into mourinho's plans last season.
