This sounds like a good deal for everyone. Not a technically gifted player but he always did a job for us and at times was an important player for us. Lots of international and top level experience for Watford.

Explain the difference between the money we'd get from abu dhabi selling kane and the money we might get from qatar for sissoko.
If open market money quickly forgets where it's been (like the bathroom towels forget where they've been when we dry our face), then it is the same for both players.

We all know the difference. It's that we want sissoko to leave, whereas we wanted kane to stay. That's the joke.

Sorry just seen this, but there is a very, very clear difference.

Qatari teams are not toxic by default (and neither are Emirati ones) just because they come from the middle east. Man City and PSG are sportswashing projects designed to make their nations look better. They are soft power entities, turning local institutions into political playthings. Qatari teams are just locally-owned teams buying and selling.

You may have a moral objection to doing business with them - I'm not saying it's "fine" to sell them or anything, think what you want - but it's not hypocritical to be ok with one and not ok with another. It's about where you draw the line. I don't want to sell to City because I don't want another state sportswashing project to have a new toy to wave around, especially at our expense. But selling Moussa Sissoko to a random Qatari club? How is that laundering anybody's reputation, exactly?

Sorry if this crosses into the "morality in football" thread a bit but to me having little moral objection to Sissoko going to Qatar but having a big one to City signing Kane is not related to their comparative ability as footballers, and I don't think it's hypocritical at all to make a distinction there.

he's confirming his own report that it's close.

gotta love fab, never misses an opportunity to big himself up

After watching him on youtube/twitch this window i have come round to liking him. I don't think he takes himself as seriously as his tweets come across. He is what he is really. He's been useful with Paratici coming, that is for sure.

He's a loyal workhorse who's played at the top level for both club and country. I think we should give the bloke some more respect as to what he's worth.
I’m just joking. You’re right of course. And I’m pleased he’s staying in the Premier- have a lot of affection for him

I guess he could actually help Watford in a relegation fight. 10m would be great business from our side. Please let it happen.

Whilst all that is true, he's 32 years old, on high wages and we're in a position where we need to get some outgoings, it's a fantastic amount if true.

Hope he does well at Watford. He’s a limited player, but has a very likeable work rate and personality. Good luck to him.
