We could probably get 7 or 8 million for him which could be put to use elsewhere?
Not sure about that much, but any money you can recycle and the spot it opens up is surely a good thing considering what it sounds like we're trying to do in regards to balance and giving Mourinho the players he wants.

Vorm was on 45k yet he was third choice .... Hart was earning 50k at burnley .... Now he is earning 27.5k ... Exactly why? You should just quit now
Vorm was our second choice when we signed him though, seriously dude....

Also I take it you've seen the back page of the metro today?

Not sure why you're still trying to maintain that Hart has come to us to be 3rd or 4th choice, it's clear as day that he's battling it out for 2nd choice.

But I'm not going to debate you further now, you're just going on ignore.

I must admit I’m not massively keen on Hart as 2nd choice at all. I don’t think there’s a huge amount in it but I do think Gazza is better. If it frees up money to get someone else in we need then fair enough but I just hope Lloris stays fit.

Why do we need to sell? Hart gives us back a HG spot which is a bonus. Have we got a 3rd choice in the academy ready to play?

So if it isn't a confidence thing how do you explain going from 75 England caps and multiple titles to being poor? did he get amnesia and completely forget how to play? One of his last England caps was away at Slovakia when we got absolutely battered but managed to draw because he was superb. He has been a good keeper and if signing him and selling Paulo means we get a right back who wont give away possession constantly or a left back who can cross then I am all for it. But I am interested in why you think he is "just shit now" if it isn't confidence?
You only need to ask Paul Robinson what confidence does to your career. He went from being quality for us to absolutely broken after the Croatia game. Problem is there aren't many keepers that can come back from that. Burnley have a good record with GoalKeepers, Heaton and Pope are both high level. If he couldn't resurrect his career there I doubt he will ever be first choice again.

I don’t think we necessarily need to sell him, but lets face it, if we got a decent offer for him now, why wouldn’t we? Hart is a very decent back up, I know he isn’t without his problems but I reckon he’ll do just fine when called upon. I’m sure we have had ITK saying that Jose will give either Whiteman or Austin a chance in training to prove they are capable of being back up too.

So if we can sell Gazza for circa 5 million and reinvest somewhere we need to we can.

Hart has failed at west ham, burnley ... He was coming to media and begging any club to take him... I think he is super happy to be 3rd or 4th choice at spurs rather than having no club at all ...
When did he tell you that. Last night at the pub?
Joe Hart I'm sure is willing to fight for any game time. To think he is happy just to come and take a wage and train a bit is laughable.

I love Gazza but if its the right decision for us to free up a home grown position then so be it. I think Gazza would be a solid number 1 for many teams in the top 7 or so leagues. His kicking distribution is first rate. Sue he has a weakness down low but he made some amazing saves with us last year.

Vorm was also willing to fight for his place but he was 3rd choice behind gazza and lloris ... Same situation is for hart, gazza and lloris ...

If we can make 5-8 mill whilst seeing minimal drop off in quality between Hart and Gazza whilst also freeing up a HG slot then that is superb business.

I know people will question whether Hart is as good as Gazza but in my view, Hart has proven he was a better keeper than Gazza and had his confidence completely rocked by Peps lack of grace when it comes to man management, arguably he made an example of Hart to get his philosophy across. He's suffered mentally ever since but from what I've heard about Jose, he is excellent at getting your confidence up and he's already made Hart feel wanted here and that'll go a long way to restoring him.

..then he left/retired, and then we re-signed him... on that money. As a crocked 3rd choice/cheerleader
Do what? We signed Vorm as 2nd keeper to Lloris in 2014 in the same deal that brought Davies over. He signed a new contract in 2018 but was replaced as number 2 by Gazza who we had signed the previous season.

Jesus I didn't realise that following basic facts would be so hard in this thread.

We still are at max capacity on non HG players though, so at the moment we're unable to sign anyone non HG unless they replace a non HG player. Given that funds are limited and HG players come at a premium then we're kind shooting ourselves in the foot by using a non HG space in the squad for our 2nd/3rd choice keeper if we don't need to.

Look Hart had all that success at City and Pep getting rid probably dented his ego and confidence.

He then looked a bit lost at West Ham and Burnley.

In his pomp at City he was very good. A new challenge at a bigger Club, with world class facilities and manager might just be what the doctor ordered.

Privately Hart is probably thinking he'll slug it out with Lloris and give him genuine competition.

Very astute signing for many reasons imo.
spot on mate!

I do think Gazzaniga did pretty well last year when he stood in but if by selling Gazzaniga it helps bring in another player and Jose feels a young GK like Whiteman etc are good enough for 3rd choice then i wouldn't mind selling gazzaniga, but if we don't need to them keeping him is great but I think like all of what you've said Hart is and was a good gk and just needs some ego stroking which Jose will be perfect for.

Just be thankful he hasnt bought up Coutinho or some random right back from the Kazakh third tier.

He just seems to go from thread to thread spouting utter bollocks and asserting it as fact.

Still trying to work out if it's all a big joke or if he actually believes the bullshit he comes out with

Has there actually been any credible link to an exit for Gazzaniga? It might make sense but hard to see where he might go. Certainly not a PL level number 1 for me.

I think a lot of confidence was lost in that moment of madness against Chelsea.

And released him last summer and only got him back when Hugo got injured at Brighton.

That's all not really that interesting though I'm more thinking about who, in the current climate, is spending any money on a keeper who has been nothing more than second choice wherever he's been.

Hopefully we'll sell so we can put an end to all this "Gazza" stuff. Are 99% of the member on here born after the 2000's? There's only one Gazza and he left 28 yrs ago.

People honestly think we're selling Pauolo? Unless I've missed some ITK.....hardly likely unless he's requested a transfer?
