Pool are our rivals? Not IMO, they are a world class team and a level above us. One result doesn't change that.

We finished above Liverpool over multiple seasons only a couple of years ago. They had a top window to become the team they are now. We could do the same with this window. Just because we're behind them doesn't mean we have to stay that way.

Gazza is half decent but he’s not a patch on Alison. If we get 8m or above I say we take it. As for the argument of strengthening a rival, if we don’t sell to them there are plenty of keepers liverpool can buy who are as good ( if not better ) than Gazza. That's absolutely fine. My point is that Spurs must not help them in any way, regardless of any potential issues for us.

Your point about Skriniar seems all ifs and buts though, we're in for him and the stumbling block now seems to primarily be whether Inter can get the player they want and is not dependant on us selling Gazza

I think when we signed Joe Hart, Gazza's time here was pretty much done so he was destined to go and I was okay with that.But now I don't want him to go to Liverpool.
