Would be very Spurs for us to weaken ourselves on deadline day.

Edit: I know it's a bit of an exaggeration but with no likely incomings of significance I'm not sure what selling one of our 3 goalkeepers achieves. One injury to Hugo or Hart and we have a youth GK on the bench.

Still have one too many non-HG players for Europe mate. Gazzaniga looks the likely sacrifice.

For me the case of selling Gazzaniga only makes sense if we use that cash for a CB.
if we arent getting anyone else, why bother selling.

Rather take the hit on wages and not play him in EL.

I really don't get your logic. He's never going to play. What is the point in wasting money on his wages when he won't even be in the squad for the competition we're more likely to rotate in. And we can still use the cash on a CB in January.

The club wouldn't agree. It makes little to no sense for them financially.

The board would bother selling him because we've acquired 6 senior players this window, whilst only selling 1 senior player outright. Given the current economic circumstances, the club is probably looking to generate some transfer revenue to reduce our net spend, as well as reduce squad wages. We've hardly seen the "1 in 1 out" model thus far that ITKs and the media reported early on in the window, but it would suggest some outgoings could still happen.

Just because we haven't sold Gazzaniga yet doesn't mean our existing signings weren't made under the assumption that we'd be offloading him to supplement the sale.

Understand why we're moving Gazzaniga on but I'm unsure it's wise letting him strengthen an Everton squad who looks like they'll be competing with us for European places.

Doubt we’ll be selling Gazzaniga if we’re not targeting an incoming as the only reason to sell would be for some extra cash

If Hugo picks up a knock and we're left to rely on Hart for a couple of months that will spell trouble for us. A thing like that happening could even hold potential to knock our entire season off course should it come at the wrong time. The drop in quality between he and Lloris is that vast imo.

Joe's no longer a Premier League quality keeper. If he were then Wham, Burnley and Torino would not have jettisoned him so easily. Don't mind using him against the weaker group stage Euro teams, but against the domestic big boys or in a semi or a final? Yikes. Gazza on the other hand is pretty solid and reliable, as proved during his period filling in last season. If we lose him then I'd say that's the one chink in the armour for our transfer window. The only downgraded position.

Romero is a seriously under rated keeper. If he went to Everton he’d out Pickford by the end of the season.
I don't think it's a case of him being underrated, people know that he is very good. He's just one of those players that seems content to "waste" his career picking up a big check on the bench instead of being first choice somewhere else. Shaqiri is another one that springs to mind.
