The funniest thing is assuming that because a DOF and coach are the same nationality or have worked together before they are a good fit.

I’ve worked with plenty of British twats that I would never want to work with again! Lol.
Fixed.

Levy will most likely sign him just for the large profit he can make on sales. That would be his only priority. That clown is destroying our club.
You just made up completely imaginary scenario based on absolutely nothing. Selling players well is good thing. Buying young talents, then selling them for a big profit after few years is even better. In what world this is destroying club?

Not sure if he’s been mentioned, and obviously a bit of recency bias is playing into my opinion, but would be really happy if Giuseppe Marotta was the unknown option aswell.

The team building he has done at Inter has been fantastic and the fall off at Juventus since he left has been massive too.

One issue though is he has recently tended to buy older players, but personally think that was due to remit of want Inter wanted.
The other issue is would he want to come? But I’m sure we’d be able to give him a fairly hefty pay rise, and Inter are still dealing with some serious financial issues.

Being able to watch two matches at once must be quite advantageous for the role.

Bit of an arms race with sporting directors/DoF this summer so I hope we wrap our number 1 target up soon

The issue I have with this graphic is, the price of a player is down to what the buying club can afford. Being a club from the premier league who has played in the Champions league means anyone we sign will have a hugely inflated starting price
Had we signed that exact team, it would likely have cost us 3 x as much.

First time I’ve seen Phil Giles mentioned from Brentford which might make sense alongside Lee Dykes but granted, it’s a tentative link.

Brentford play shit football and have very few players I’d be interested in joining Spurs. I’d say only Toney, Raya and Rico Henry would noticeably improve our squad in starting 11 or important squad rotation positions. Can’t think of any good reason we would be interested in any of Brentford’s staff

I heard people say they rate Tiago Pinto, I'm very ignorant so when I googled his name, I anticipated he'd be the Benfica DoF but turns out he's at Roma. So clearly, I need some education so would anybody be interested in filling me in as to why he'd be a good fit? I'm looking for beyond the fact that Roma have had quite a good couple of seasons under Jose tbh, I want to know what about him specifically contributed and why that would fit with Spurs. I can from the outside understand Spors because he has experience through the entire process for example.

Also if anybody could fill me in on what's going on with this Barca guy that'd be great too.

Jesus, you do realise they became an established PL with a tiny budget compared to many in the league?

So you’d take Thomas Frank as manager even though he effectively plays the same passive counter attacking football as our previous managers? The DOF/running of the club I suppose you have a point with but it’s still a gamble. I’d sooner take a punt on someone with a track record of finding players I’d want at Tottenham like Steidten. Finding solid PL players and finding players good enough to challenge for things are two different things entirely

Brentford have done fabulously finding players undervalued in the market and putting them together in s style that’s made them punch far above their weighr. Does that mean their recruitment personnel could do well with a different remit here? I don’t know, frankly. But they have done very well for their current club.

I agree. The question would be, are Brentford playing the way they are because of the scouts or despite the scouts?

I.e. is their setup only able to find players who are grafters or is this the remit they have to punch above their weight and given another direction could they find equally suited players for another system and direction? Footballing people seem to rate Brentford's setup highly, so I'd be inclined to believe it's the latter.

They have but that’s besides my original point that I still wouldn’t be looking at any of their staff or manager. I didn’t once knock what they’ve achieved as a club with their resources, I just stated that I don’t believe they’ve proven enough to say they can operate at the level we require. Like I said, finding solid PL players and finding elite level PL players, which is what we require are totally different things. I feel it’s a safer option going for a DOF that has shown an ability to unearth players that are of Tottenham calibre. Not totally ruling out there being any chance of Brentford’s staff doing so but I’d rather go with someone that’s already got the T-shirt personally
