I think King would be a far better option on the counter than Wilson, and against deep lying defences...better burst of pace and more agile. Just more versatile overall as well.

But Wilson is a better finished. King has the touch of the darren huckerby’s to me.

Eh? The issue with Huckerby was that he was too good for the Championship but not good enough for the Premier League. King's been delivering at PL level for several years now.

Tottenham in talks to sign Bournemouth striker Josh King, talkSPORT understands
They do give the vibe of just hopping on stories, but talkSPORT hasn’t missed for us lately to be fair.

Wilson:

- £20-30m
- 2 horrific knee injuries
- general concern over his medical history
- strong
- decent pace
- 29 prem goals in 83 games over the last 3 seasons

King
- last year of his contract
- £10-20m
- excellent injury history
- strong
- very quick
- a workhorse
- plays wide left or as a striker
- 26 prem goals in 94 games over the last 3 seasons

Comparison:
- same age
- very similar goal ratio

Best option - King
- cheaper
- covers 2 positions
- very quick
- excellent injury record (no major injuries)

King missed a fair few matches with injury last season (agree he's the better option though).

I don't see King offering any more than Son (in fact, less) as a back up striker and has all the same limitations (i.e not a target man or hold up capable). Thought he usually played in a 2 up front with Wilson which isn't really what we need if Kane is out.

I’d take JK on a short 2 year deal. Homegrown, knows the PL, can play through the middle and out wide so would give us a few options.
Great way to ensure he leaves on a free transfer in 2 years - while he's still young enough to command a fee and be useful to another PL team for 2-3 more years.

King is in my opinion far more versatile. For Norway he is a proper target man at times. And more importantly a leader. For Bournemouth he has even been solid as a winger.

I wasn't convinced when we were linked to him a couple of seasons ago, but he has matured into a proper player. Would love him. Wouldn't be surprised if he became fairly regular for us alongside Kane and Son. That is not the most likely scenario, but not out of the question. Mourinho would love King. Hard worker. Tough. And he never shy away from responsibility.

He would complement our forward group brilliantly. Can hardly think of a player I would realistically rather have - actually I can't. Far far better than Wilson in my opinion (maybe Wilson would have been better without the injuries of course).

It would theoretically allow us to rest both Son and Kane for cup games, while also avoiding Son having to play 90 minutes of every game if Kane gets injured. Llorente was a proper CF, but Poch still generally preferred Son to him when Kane was unavailable.

Wilson or king who is taller? Anyway, always thought king as a better footballer than wilson ...

King is not especially tall, but he is tough. He isn't brilliant in the air, but he is very good at holding defenders away. Can definitely play "Mourinho-ball". Not that different from Milito (in style - obviously Milito was the better player when he was at his best).

I hadn't realised he was Norwegian until now haha.

If you look at our signings so far this one fits the mould. Prem proven, relatively cheap, peak age, low risk. Makes total sense. Only a few months ago he was on the brink of a Man Utd move.

I'd be well happy with this one as well. Is a striker who can play on the wing, prem proven, should be cheap as well.
