what’s gardening leave?

From Wiki

Garden leave describes the practice whereby an employee leaving a job—having resigned or otherwise had their employment terminated—is instructed to stay away from work during the notice period, while still remaining on the payroll. This is used when an employee position is no longer needed during the notice period

Might be wishing he hadn't rejected that alleged offer of a payoff from Levy now. Roma must have made a really strong pitch.

Good for him though, it shows he still has the hunger. I hope he does well... though preferably not TOO well (I think we've been caused quite enough embarrassment of late).

what’s gardening leave?

Garden leave is a notice period where employees are restricted from working but they still get a normal rate of pay.
Employees on gardening leave can’t re-enter the workplace and can’t work elsewhere during the period of leave. There may be further restrictions, and these are included as part of a garden leave contract.

So in this case he was placed on Gardening Leave until he found a new job.

Saves us about £10m that. That's basically the cost of loaning Bale again next season. Really good news.

Italian league a completely different kettle of fish to English league, but will make it very interesting to see how Roma do next season…

I think that if Roma pay him less than we paid him then we have to make up the difference for the remainder of what was left on his contract with us. Might be wrong but even if true not so much of an expense.
As is common when a manager gets a new club he takes his previous coaching staff with him,if he does better still.

If this is true what stops roma paying mourinho 20k a year? Genuine question

I actually quite like Roma but I have no choice but to hope they fail, can't have us be the only club he didn't win at.
