Makes sense for him to go back to Italy, and the club is the right sort of profile for him. Seems he’s genuinely determined to succeed in club management again and isn’t tempted by a payday in a a third rate league.

The aspect that appears to be the most outdated of JM's tenure is the underemphasis on fitness . We've heard from Utd tha it took Ole 6 months to get players back to par fitness after JM . We kept conceding late...dropping deep when JM was demanding they press . JM saying he wanted them to press but they wouldn't.

Surely fitness probs could explain a lot of this . Also TN was saying how he wanted to go home partly because Poch's training sessions were killing him . This was solved by JM's arrival and presumably less serious workouts . Another clue that JM was not up to speed ..along with all the stuff about him not using latest analysing tech with the players .

As some said at the time, a 'Yesterday's man' it seems.
