I would love John Stones as an option. I think he's a victim of the high line that City play, which he's just not cut out for. But, in a low block, I bet he'd do a great job. He's experienced, massive, wins headers and tackles galore and has just about the best passing range of any defender in football.

I know stats aren't the be all and end all, but the comparison of Toby to Stones shows just how incredible his passing stats and arial stats are. His passing stats are the best in the world, and his arial is top notch. Put him in a system that allows him to play to his strengths he'd be a fantastic signing.

Mixed feelings on this. Because of City's utter dominance of possession in most games and his inconsistent starts, I have no idea how good he actually is. Obviously he's great on the ball but is also fairly error prone - so difficult to say if he's an upgrade on Sanchez.

I'd certainly prefer him on loan to no-one but the jury is out and obviously nowhere near as exciting as Skriniar.

He’s always got a mistake in him, but that could be down to being asked to always play it out from the back etc. While I wouldn’t be delighted about him coming, I’d be interested to see what Jose can do with him.

Ally Gold in his latest video says he's someone we've looked at the last couple of windows to see if his situation would change at City.

There’s only pessimism about this link because of all the hype around Skriniar before. So it’s a bit underwhelming.

But if we’d been linked with no centre back then Stones came in on loan - so low risk - to bulk up our options at the back we‘d be pretty happy.

At worst would be third best CB in the club, if Mourinho wants him then fine.
Also homegrown. He is another player similar to Hart, has incredible talent just needs an arm around the shoulder and some confidence.
Put him in a 'safer' system than Pep's high line and i'm sure he can do well and yes everyone wants to see Tanganga develop but right now Stones is obviously a serious level above that. If this were to happen though then as much as I'd like to keep him and think he's a perfect back-up RB, perhaps we'd need to consider selling Aurier otherwise Tanganga's path would be well and truely blocked, otherwise we'd need to at least get Tanganga out on loan this season.

But certainly not adverse to signing Stones but again why would City look to strengthen us?

Can’t say I’ve ever been a fan of his but if José wants him, I wouldn’t be against this. To be fair Guardiola‘s defensive high line hasn’t done him any favours.

Personally, I'd take John Stones. Its a bit harsh to judge him on the crazy system Pep plays at City. Let Jose work on him for a few weeks playing in a more traditional defensive set up and we could have a proper player.

To be fair, I know nothing though :D
