I don't trust David Bentley, i think we should sell him in January, bad enough signing former Ar5ena1 players, even worse when they are playing really bad. Some players need a punch in the face and Bentley seems like one of those.

What a horrible thing to say! How do you know this story emanates from him? Everything he's said publically is that he couldn't wait to come to Spurs, and all his mates are Spurs supporters.

Everyone loved him when he scored the great goal v Roma, and showed his delight and cockiness. Why turn on him now?

He's not playing well, he knows that, but who is in a Spurs shirt currently, apart from Gomes, and our 2 Welsh Fullbacks?

I blame the coaching staff for denting his confidence. But I'm glad he came to Spurs, he's a good player, as he proved for Blackburn last season, and still think he'll come good for Spurs. Leave him alone!

BTW you also said we should sell Modric in January, now Bentley. May I ask who you'd like to keep from our current squad? Or more to the point, are you a Gooner in Disguise? Eek

I would say Woodgate and Lennon are playing as well as Gunter and Bale but take your point. You really despair when you see Spurs fans saying these things, as well as the 'twat' etc posts about Comolli. If people don't like him from a football perspective, then that's an opinion but why do people get personal?

I never eat before a game.

Taking on the last man and needing a shit at the same time makes things a little more difficult.

Yep.

Definitely yep.

Watching the Bentley transfer happen it seemed very much to me that the only poster 'on the scene' with real personal connections to Bentley is Mams from GG.

Dan

I love the way that following Bent's Sky interview supporting Commolli and ramos, posters on other forums have been saying "yeah - he's been forced to say those things due to his contract2 or "he hasn't actually praised Ramos, just been neutral".

It's grim, but it was last year as well after 12 games. We need to fluke some wins and draws (we should have beaten Wigan/Hull).

I'll be devestated if Ramos fails as his entire team for the first time at Spurs were acting like a modern, scientific coaching team. But maybe people wouldprefer to have bent 'arry and shifty el tel ( I see one paper is saying sourness is being lined up)

I still maintain that several other teams are playing well above themselves this season. Most teams have poor squads compared to the bigger teams and I think many teams will fall behind. Everton and Newcastle are also in false positions!

I think we should give you away in January.

Comolli has always taken a strong interest in player welfare. Remember his first ever role when he retired from playing was coaching the youth sides as Monaco, so he does have experience of this as well as his business side. He is actually popular with the players - I've heard King say similar things to what Bent has as well.

The only realpolitikal reason for Bent coming out with that would be his personal concerns over his future at the club come January - a healthy bit of brown nosing. He certainly wont have had Donna Cullen stood behind the camera with a contract at West Ham in her hand anyway.

The strongest argument against this information IMO is actually Graham Roberts' visit to the training ground a few weeks ago. Roberts is vitriolic critic of everything to do with the club, but he was very obviously blown away with our training methods.

I still have faith it will just click at some point. I've actually got money on us being top half again by xmas.

Bit harsh - why would he be a gooner in disguise? We have a squad that is bottom of the league performing our worst start for 96 years & he's suggested making a couple of changes in January. Surely a Gooner would be wanting us to kep the same squad for the whole season?!

Yea but he wants to punch one of our players lights out. Sure that would really help matters and push us up the league.

Has nobody actually noticed the deliberate piss take in this post:

OK. this is from Bentley speaking to someone i know who defo knows and speaks to him. don't shoot the messenger but make of it what you will.

1) the players think ramos is crazy. he is holed up in his office most of the time and hardly takes training. bentley says that he has only spoken to him TWICE since joining.
2) the players are fed up with the diet. the strange protein shakes they take along make them feel ill. most importantly, they are not allowed to eat for 5 hours before a game which weakens them.
3) Poyet takes training with alvarez. Nothing tactical is ever done and the players cannot believe this. they never look at forthcoming opponents and study them.
4) players are baffled by the team selections as much as we are. ramos pops his head in, reads out the teams and buggers off.
5) poyet sides with the players and thinks ramos is crazy but is only hanging around because he feels the job will be his when ramos leaves.
6) players met levy on monday, led by ledley. they voiced concerns but levy said the board is sticking by ramos.

Other ITKs seem to be backing this up and others are going the other way.

FFS, if Poyet took training we would most likely be winning our matches:grin:

The original post doesn't really sound that credible, but let's face it, none of us know what's going on at Spurs.

For all we know, things could have been going hunky-dory, then Levy sells Keane AND Berbatov, Ramos is pissed and thinks 'Fuck it, I can't be arsed with this anymore' and is now waiting for the sack and his massive pay-out.

I don't know, just depressed with the situation and rambling. Sorry.

What I do know, however, is that we've got a good squad that isn't playing well, and it doesn't seem that Ramos can do anything about it.

I'm not in the pro-Ramos or anti-Ramos camp. I really couldn't give a flying fuck who manages Spurs (within reason) as long as we're winning matches.

I just want our club to be respectable again

Good post ht. Oh to be a club who is respected again instead of laughed at. It's a depressing time to be a Spurs fan. We just have to try to stay positive and pray things turn around real quick now.

The strongest argument against this information IMO is actually Graham Roberts' visit to the training ground a few weeks ago. Roberts is vitriolic critic of everything to do with the club, but he was very obviously blown away with our training methods.

I think you're overstating the case. Roberts was just thrilled to be invited officially back into the fold. A wise move by the PR deptartment, as he'd been critical on SSN and TalkSPORT. He's now changed his tune, but is not talking any more eloquently than he was previously.

Alan Brazil has been saying for more than a week that he expects a "change at the top" at Spurs very soon. Whether that's Ramos or Comolli, he wouldn't say, but who else would his "source at the club" be other than Roberts, with whom he played?

Dan, sorry, it's not only our league performance this season that rack up question marks, but our league performance since Ramos took over. The facts and figures don't lie. This year, we've managed precisely one point a game. Even the turn-round in Ramos' first nine games in charge wasn't that impressive, and, Pompey and City aside, we haven't beaten anyone who could reasonably be described as being any good.

Allowances and excuses are fast running out.

Why accuse Bent of brown-nosing? I'd say his future's safe until the summer, seeing as he's likely to be the only striker eligible for UEFA, if the targets you've mentioned are correct.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but from memory I have never seen anything Brazil has said regarding what is likely to come to pass at Spurs ever actually occur, atleast nothing to suggest he has a source of any noterity within the Lane

(he may have predicted something like Berbatov leaving, along with every newspaper and sports news channel in the country, but nothing that wasn't stating the obvious)
