I didn't think I cared as much as I used to, but I must do, deep down.

I was over the moon at finding out we are away at Burnley in the cup, because it's means I can try and get tickets to take my boy to his first Spurs game. I thought we were going to have to wait until April for that.

Poor sod, doesn't know what he's letting himself in for :(

Very Childish Response. Anyway, I take it you must think ENIC are showing the ambition the fans deserve. Please explain how, without mentioning the words "Leeds and "Portsmouth"

In the last five years we have finished fourth twice, fifth twice and sixth once.

Given we are the sixth biggest club financially in the premiership I would say that is actually pretty good.

mmm... from the man/woman who thinks 3 x 3rd place finishes, 2 x 4th place finishes, 2 fa cups, 1 UEFA cup in the 80s alone represents failure compared to ENIC'S record

Dear Knobster, could you point out the post in which I represented the 80s as a failure?

It doesn't seem to have registered with you that one of those third places was actually at the beginning of the 90s; or that I made a specific point that our league record has been better than it was in the 80s. Or, that the football world is very different from what it was 30 years ago.

Ahhh. .The 89/90 season. . So we actually finished 3rd in May 1990. Ok then. That changes everything I suppose.
ENIC. I bow to you ambitious greatness.

Out of interest mate where do you expect the money to come from? I would LOVE it if we could throw signing fees and wages at players in the manner of Chelsea or Man City.

But without the benefit of rich backers how do we go about that? Joe Lewis certainly hasn't shown any inclination to readily part with his hard earned readies.

I am intrigued to hear what you think ENIC could have done within their financial means. Do you think they should have sold-up? If so, who to?

Questions questions,

Where we are and where we want to be...

Some love Tottenham Hotspur because of their (somewhat) glorious history, whilst some because of what Spurs could be... We fall in love with the potential, and not where we are now. ...because "now" kind of sucks big time.

The last couple of seasons have taken us several of steps backwards. I'm not talking about the horrifying 90's or the dire (pre-Jol) 00's, but backwards since the reign of 'arry.

Soo... My question to you: do you have a timeframe, a deadline to where you feel enough is enough? Or will you support the team till the very end?

This where I think Harry was right. It's no good playing team that has 'potential' stars of the future if they play naively and don't win games they are expected to. It is much better to have a balance of experience and youth, and to make sure that defensively we are solid. At the moment there are too many young players, notably at both left and right back, with lots of potential, but very little in terms of experience.

Some of these young players are simply not good enough at the moment and that is showing by our recent run of results that seems to be getting worse not better.

The manager has to take some responsibility as well.

Can I ask you a simple, hypothetical question. ( see, I can use big words for one not so bright). If it turned out that Daniel Levy was imprisoned for Embezzlement, and Joe Lewis sacrificed babies, Would yo still be defending ENIC. A straight yes or no will do.

Eh??

What has that hypothetical situation got to do with anything?

Questions questions,
You just answered your own question in the middle paragraph.. With regards to who they should sell too.....how the he'll should I know. I'm just a fan. All I do know is that a club with the history, tradition, location, and fan base of Tottenham Hotspur deserve and could attract owners with far more ambition than our current investment company

Just reading the thread and feel Alamo (and everyone else) deserves a serious answer - unless you think money grows on trees or you care not a fuck about Spurs your first answer is, frankly, no answer and at best disrepectful

The very tone of your post is both patronising and in suggesting I dont care about Spurs, downright disrespectful. Spurs is a massive part of my life, hence the reason I`m on here responding to you mate. I care alright. So much it hurts me to see the way were going.
Anyway, I agree money doesnt grow on trees. However, over the past 5 years we have seen less net investment in the playing squad than all 19 other premier league clubs. This is a fact you cannot refute. Over the same period we have seen our team gradually decline. Another fact you surely cant refute, to where we are now, while in real terms spending less than the likes of Hull, stoke, Swansea and even Burnley. That tells me that we could have shown a little more ambition. We could have done more to address the downward spiral. You say where would the money come from ? How do you expect me to answer with any authority. I`m not a fucking board member. All I do know is that the club has had the luxury of a massive sky windfall. I know that our average matchday ticket prices are second only to Arsenal. I know that most owners of Premier League clubs are prepared to make an overall loss in the transfer market in a hope to see their clubs push on. I know that we have a super rich majority owner who himself is worth over £4 billion. I also see this billionaire, who unlike other owners,is not prepared invest a penny of his own fortune in the club I care so much about. His perogative of course. But if thats his choice, he should fuck off and hand over to someone prepared to invest. So where does the money come from ?. Who knows. I`m convinced its already there. I`m also convinced that asking for a little more investment in the quality of players we need is not beyond the financial power of ENIC. And, finally, I`m not convinced Jol, Ramos, Redknapp, AVB, and now Pochetinno are all shite managers. I think the problem lies further up. I think the moneys there. I also think they are not terribly keen on spending it
