Hopefully with the movement to an analysis approach for identifying players, and the appointment of Ange, maybe we’re trying to go the Brighton route.Isnt this more a question of style? I can understand the club not buying a player a manager wants if the club thinks the manager won’t be here long and the new manager will have a completely different way of playing.
But that is the issue! If Brighton lose De Zerbi they will get another De Zerbi/Potter. The players they buy fit a style and they only hire managers who play that way. It’s easy to ‘’back the manager’’ when you know even if the manager leaves those players will still be useful.
I think the club can only ‘’back the manager’’ if it backs a style so the players, managers, scouts youth system have an aligned way of doing things. This is what almost every elite club does these days and we don’t, we swing from style like a drunk falling around a bar. We need more than sticking with a manager to stick with a way of playing and build off that.
Christ he can't catch a break can he? They did take a big risk signing him for such massive money and a long contract off the back of a massive injury season as Leciester, mind.Fofana at Chelsea has damaged his ACL and will be out for the season.
Wouldn’t surprise me if they look at VDV and Tapsoba.
Need to get a move on sharpish.
A defence is only as good as it’s weakest part and unfortunately we have a few holes. Can’t come in soon enough. Even Romero isn’t convincing nowadays.

They're still doing OK at CB with Silva, Colwill, Badiashille and Chalobah so not sure they need to spend big on another one. Colwill looks exceptional and having him get more minutes won't do them any harm.
Looks like they might be looking for one
Eh not much of a risk since they will be able to sell him off to the Saudi league for 40M next summerChrist he can't catch a break can he? They did take a big risk signing him for such massive money and a long contract off the back of a massive injury season as Leciester, mind.

Ugh would be so typical. The Koulibaly deal was an absolute farce.Eh not much of a risk since they will be able to sell him off to the Saudi league for 40M next summer
They'll pay 70 - Cucurella styleWould they spend 50m, though? Maybe they would knowing Chelsea.

Pretty sure he had a long-term injury at Leicester, which they support him with and he then rewarded them by demanding to leave at first opportunity.
So karma...
Year after year after year they talk about the need to buy new players, talk to players and then it's quiet... playing in negotiations and losing players like Grealish, Bruno, Kim, or Diaz from Liverpool. Everyone ran away because of Levi and his nonsense.
Two new defenders is a must and he is once again negotiating to the death.
Meanwhile Tanganga, Dier and Sanchez are still here as usual.
