Fofana at Chelsea has damaged his ACL and will be out for the season.

Wouldn’t surprise me if they look at VDV and Tapsoba.

Need to get a move on sharpish.
I'm not sure Tapsoba would be happy to go to Chelsea, who have shown no interest in him, as a stop gap until Fofana is fit.

Nice thanks for sharing.

If it’s likely one of VDV/Tapsoba and +1 then do we want the +1 to be Tosin or Lenglet? Tobin more pace but Lenglet knows the club and very good on the ball.

Im leaning towards Tosin over Lenglet for more of a fresh start and for his pace.

Bringing back to topic I’d be fine with Tapsoba or VDV, personally leaning towards VDV as he can also cover LB and I’ve seen a little more of him but from what some respected posters have said on here and other articles and from the bits I have seen of him, Tapsoba looks like a proper player as well.

Lenglet isn't likely to be one no, he's a long way down the list. Most likely scenario is one of VdV or Tapsoba with the likes of Tosin. I've been told again not to completely rule out Tapsoba & VdV although I do appreciate that's probably very unlikely. There are never any certainties with Tottenham, but I would be absolutely gobsmacked if we didn't get one of VdV or Tapsoba. Ange has been incredibly vocal with the need for defensive reinforcements and I honestly feel he will finally be the manager to get them. It was a pre season friendly today but you could see the potential going forward and it could be quite frightening when it all clicks. So one hopes that certain big wigs can see that we're potentially just a few strong additions away from being a very decent outfit this year. I said it a few weeks back but Ange is really impressing behind the scenes, the club has got a buzz around it, one we haven't seen since early Poch days. I just pray that Levy finally understands the importance of truly backing a manager. I have my doubts, but I'm trying to remain positive. A potential line up with even one CB coming in looks incredibly strong....

I'm struggling to understand the hold up in getting one of Tapsoba or VdV in. Unless Tapsoba is currently above the budget set aside but he's Ange's preferred

I think the hold up would be that they haven’t agreed price and structure with tapsoba and vdv is entitled to another week of holiday following u21 euros. So there isn’t a possible transfer that would lead to one joining the tour?

Putting 2+2 together from various media bits, if Tapsoba is our preferred choice then we'll negotiate up until a point where we feel like there's a complete impasse (or success) before moving onto VdV. There's little point in signing the second choice in VdV if we feel Tapsoba is doable with a bit of negotiation.

I see zero reason if that team stays fit that we can’t get back into the CL. Udogie is the only inexperienced player in that 11 and I think he’s clearly a special talent. Our bench would be majorly handy too with the likes of Richy, Solomon, Lo Celso, Sarr and Porro on it

I would start preparing yourself for the very real possibility that we won’t finish in the top 6 let alone top 4.

We’d need 5th to get CL. I think it’s doable with a top CB signing and a season without a disaster injury list like last season

I think you nearly have that spot on. The fly in the ointment is that we agreed a fee and basic structure for VDV and then tried to stretch the payment terms. That led to his current club (rightly in my opinion) asking for more money. We either pay less sooner or more over a longer period we need to find the balance to get it tied up. Oddly I was told that by a work contact at the biggest company in Wolfsburg - I have no idea if he has any connection to the club but he seemed very certain.
