Could Harry go at the end of the season?

Its only the bookies, but odds have fallen from 100/1 to 8/1 to Redknapp being the next manager sacked.

How many of these have we had? I think this is the third time odds have been slashed with absolutely no basis to it.

I saw this too but do they really mean sacked, or could it include resign (as in the FA are planning something). Either way, it would be dreadful and as I don;t believe for one minute that Mourinho would come to us I don't relish the thought of being without a manager and still no nearer to a new stadium. Please God Harry can get us into the CL for next season before he wends his way (if that is what is on the cards).

With the money/wages they have to spend give Les Reed a couple of years and an unlimited budget and he would win the premiership, it will be no achievement at all for Jose and no real test of his ability as they are only 1-2 players away from domination, any manager who has a blank cheque would end up winning trophies.

Going to City would not be a test of Mourinho's ability.

Was Chelsea? Was Inter? Was Real?

He hardly picks the toughest of challenges does he? Don't get me wrong he's a great manager but I don't think he's motivated by the challenge necessarily.

Doesn't mean anything as you say. Bookies change odds at the drop of a hat.

Chelsea - He failed, the challenge was tough - win the UCL. But he would have, and he bulit the club into what it is (or was until they fucked up)

Inter - He was tasked with bringing the UCL, a pretty tough ask at the time. He won the treble. He beat the best team on earth.

Madrid - He is in the race to succeed. Beat Barca to the league or UCL or both. A pretty impossible task.

All pretty tough challenges. He's hardly going to take on the Bolton job. IMO Man City would be a bigger challenge than Spurs.

It wouldn't

If Mourinho asked the sheikh for £1bn a year transfer budget he would be given it in a heartbeat, with the funds at his disposal any manager would get silverware, whereas if he joined us he might get £40m to spend so bringing success would be more hard work but more credibility at the end.

Give me £1bn a year I would win the title for City and I am just an estate agent

Money doesn't mean success. It will help, but it doesn't guarantee it.

But don't you think it's easier to win the Prem with what City have than us?

No, because I see us as being maybe 1 player away from having a Championship winning team, so regardless of what City do, we get that player, we are definitely up there. We play better football.

Jobs like that come with their own set of challenges and pressure though. Expectations are as high as is possible to get. In those jobs, coming second is failure.

Agreed but in those jobs (loads of money at Chelsea and Real, no competition at Inter) it's much easier to come first. My point is that Mourinho isn't motivated by any 'challenges' that are actually quite tough. Although the aims would be higher at City he'd also have loads more resources to meet those aims and I think that'd be the job he'd be most likely to take.
