With one loss in 16 games we were long overdue to lose again.

Pool gave us a good game but we were not outplayed tonight. We were let down by individual errors, that to be fair, we've been getting away with recently.

Although we most certainly will find ourself at 4th after Chelsea plays their game in hand, for me the end of our unbeaten run cleans the slate to regroup and push further for 3rd place.

We played well and were undone by bizarre one off errors which I am confident (praying) will not be repeated - we were without Lennon and ade which limited our options yet still bossed the game - our fitness which I was most worried about was fantastic which gives me so much hope for what we are about to face in the next couple of months

We need to stay focused and stick together. I was glad to see AVB call today a "great wake up call". Complacency from here on in can't be tolerated.

I don't know about the rest of you, but Benny is really starting to get on my wick, while the rest of the team has quite obviously moved forward and, imo, look like a more professional unit, he seems to still be playing like he couldn't really give a shit where we finish or whether we win anything, he seems to be in 'I#m only here for the money ' mode. Shame really ,coz he could be one hell of a player!!

We lost because of Walker and Defoe. To lesser extent Hugo and Benny.

We were the better team and should've won. Bale is NOT a selfish prick, he set up 2 goals and almost had another assist if gylfi hadn't fired it just wide.

Vertonghen best game of the season irregardless of the goals.

Dembele looked class freed up from the reins of midfield.

Not the end of the world. Liverpool have been great at home recently spanking teams 4/5 nil and we had to gift them 2 goals to win. We are still in a good position to finish in the top 3/4

On to the next game

Sorry, whilst i wont disagree with your overall idea, to land any blame on Hugo is wrong. To use Bales 2 assists(from free kicks) as a reason for him not being selfish is wrong and Vertonghen committed 2 fouls which should have been pens, his best game was Arsenal home.

Just to clarify, i am not disagreeing, just saying your examples are flawed.

Definitely agree, when you see the new attitude of the squad and watch him it can be a bit annoying. He is a good player but the laid back attitude when he makes daft mistakes does annoy me.

I was fuming at that result, but thinking about it logically and realistically we can take a lot out of it, arguably more than Liverpool can. Apart from a ten minute spell in each half we were the better team, despite missing three of our most important players and having a further two out of position, one of whom was the best player on the pitch today. We lost as a result of two silly mistakes and the weakest refereeing display I've seen in a long time. Whilst we should have taken at least a point today, this result won't define our season.

On the train home after attending the game. Was very difficult sitting in the kop but we were unlucky today.

In the pub after the game the pool fans were raving about dembele.

We are definitely miles ahead of Liverpool, they are an average team with a couple of quality players in Suarez and Coutinho, Sturridge looked even more greedy than Defoe today.

They have a lot of work to do to overtake us imo, particularly if we buy well in the summer.

Felt gutted after the game, but we bossed the game vs an in form liverpool after playing 90 min just 3 days ago, and thats a massive positive to take with us.

Feel a little sorry for AVB though. Was schooling rodgers on how to be a proper manager only to be foiled by two horrible mistakes.

Why feel sorry for him? He has already won more in his career than Rodgers ever will. Brent is one of the luckiest managers in the league. Lucky in the respect that he is in charge of England's most succesful club without having the credentials usually required for such a position ( given he has no ties to the club )

Laudrup has taken Swansea to another level. Effortlessly too.

We lost but still positives. We look like a top side.

Dembele out of position had to figure out how to play there and link with others, a central midfield pairing you wouldn't want, no wingers and Defoe not yet match fit.

We struggled to grasp how to play together but then started to work it out and boss the game. Half time and we took control, we should have converted one chance to go 3-1.

The game was ours until we shot ourselves in the foot.

However we should have won which speaks volumes for the way AVB is organising us to play and gives encouragement for the Chelsea and Man City games to come, which will probably decide our finishing position.

Played well for the most part today, despite being under strength, against an in form side. They looked short of ideas and we were in total control until the well documented, moronic moments of madness.

Onwards and upwards now. Finish the job against Inter, then focus on putting Fulham to the sword.

Haven't witnessed any knee-jerking here today. That was a disgusting way to hand an opponent a game and some fans are understandably very upset by it.

A brief period of mourning and moaning is expected.

After this loss, it'll show AVB's real ability to motivate if the lads can forget about this and go forward with their winning ways.

Spurs have been winning games that should have been a draw...
There have been games when it was as good as lost and we still won...
Had an amazing run of games...
I say unlucky, it was due.. never felt more proud of this team

try standing in it 28 years ago, now that was difficult!
two individual errors, it happens unfortunately, we were 'due' them at some stage...

Shows how far we have come that we are devastated after a defeat at LFC whereas the norm throughout the late 70's, 80's, 90's and start of this millennium was a expected defeat. We will bounce back and secure a CL spot, let's see where the laughing Goons and Pool fans today are come May....

I change my mind. I wont wait until the end of the season for my assessment of AVB. He has gained his Spurs as far as I am concerned, regardless of what happens for the rest of the season.
