We lost because of Walker and Defoe. To lesser extent Hugo and Benny.

We were the better team and should've won. Bale is NOT a selfish prick, he set up 2 goals and almost had another assist if gylfi hadn't fired it just wide.

Vertonghen best game of the season irregardless of the goals.

Dembele looked class freed up from the reins of midfield.

Not the end of the world. Liverpool have been great at home recently spanking teams 4/5 nil and we had to gift them 2 goals to win. We are still in a good position to finish in the top 3/4

On to the next game

Yep like you say perspective, sack AVB, castrate Defoe, make Bale's ears all sticky outy again and burn down WHL because of that

agree with the OP - some big positives today, with the main one being we went to Anfield to play in an in form team and generally made them look average. 2 individual errors lost us the game. Dembele looked back to his best and Vertonghen again looked fantastic.

Main grievances today were the inclusion of Livermore - constantly made poor decisions and looks an average player. Defoe was also shocking today - I have given him credit recently as he has learnt to drop deep and get involved but today he was a passenger.

On to the next game - 3 points at home to Fulham and we re back on track!

We done good today. Okay so a few basic errors cost us but these will happen over the course of a season. The way we came back from a goal down was fantastic and usually we would have won. Move on.

Too right, people need to chill the fuck out because some of these threads are starting to look a little bit RAWK with this hyperbolic nonsense.

As I've said elsewhere, we've played more games and we still had to gift them two goals. It wasn't a vintage performance but we have played a lot worse and still win!

We need a bit of stoicism because whilst it hurts we will learn from this and atone for our mistakes!

Players are human. It's a shame but the last disappointment in the league was a gut check and we went 3 months unbeaten.

The key is to use this as motivation and view it as a chance to bounce back. We weren't humiliated or fail to turn up. Silly errors cost us. Take any lessons needed and move on.

Bale and maybe a few others will get a rest this week. Could prove important for the final push.

I was worried about our mentality, or possible lack of it. After the game I'm actually reassured.

Felt gutted after the game, but we bossed the game vs an in form liverpool after playing 90 min just 3 days ago, and thats a massive positive to take with us.

Feel a little sorry for AVB though. Was schooling rodgers on how to be a proper manager only to be foiled by two horrible mistakes.

It was an excellent performance marred by silly individual mistakes. Walker has the potential to be a cracking right back, he just needs to stop losing his concentration. Defoe on the other hand is utterly selfish and top teams can't afford to have them in their sides unless they are world class. Defoe isn't, and he needs to go.

No knee jerk needed. We gradually got into the game after Liverpool's fast start and deserved to be level at HT. Dominated at the start of the second half and deservedly went a goal up, controlling the game. Then two stupid passes and we have lost. Individual mistakes that you cannot legislate for, but overall we showed we are a very good team, so on to the next games and more wins.

We never had more than a 1 goal lead, so how could we have bossed it?

Liverpool were always in the game. We clawed back to 1-1, then had a good spell for 15 minutes after half time . At 2-2 we gave Liverpool incentive and from then on they were better.

We were the better team today, we lost by gifting 2 goals, still reckon we will finish 3rd

Haven't seen the game yet but to go to Liverpool as favourites to win is a massive compliment.

Then it sounds like we took the game to them at Anfield as we did at Old Trafford. That is a big big difference to years gone by.

Not entirely surprised with the result. The game on Thursday, no Lennon, no Sandro, no Ade and it sounds like defensive errors occurred which happens sometimes. Mustn't lose confidence because of that.

I don't know about reassuring, yes we took initiative back after the opening spell but once Walker cocked up, we were on the back foot the entire time.

I think it's because it was a sucker punch. I sure as hell did not see that coming and as I said during the game, Liverpool were getting meeker and were going down without any more fight. We re-energized them, or rather Walker did, and then we couldn't be resolute. Defoe just inexplicable. He should go home and cry and start calling up Championship teams.

as i said in the match thread. they had 4 shots on target, including the pen and the downing calamity goal.

Our tactics clearly worked but individual errors costs us.

We need to learn from our mistakes and move on

I'm confident that we can go on another unbeaten run to the end of the season. Today, well, it was just "a bad day at the office", as Harry would have said. Five wins and four draws and the top four is sealed. Oh, and let's win the Europa League! :)

At least we have Kaboul coming back, may aswell play him as a striker.

Atleast he'll be able to not give away a penalty in the last couple of minutes.

Can probably do a better job than defoe and adebayor
