Gary Jacob tends not to be a bullshitter so this may well have legs. Shame as I think we need three but maybe Whiteman is set to be number 3.
Maybe 3-4 years ago. Joe Hart almost got Burnley relegated. Lost his place to Adrian he was so bad for West Ham. He isnt close to good anymore. He ships goal after goal. And with our defense? You’re asking for trouble. He isnt a good keeper anymore. Its not a confidence thing. He is shit.Yep A motivated Joe Hart is a huge upgrade
Mainly 'cause we're not playing out from the back anymore - Hugo doesn't have to worry about his kicking.Hugo has been back to his best under Jose’s GK coach. Hopefully the same coach can revive Hart.
More chance of the titanic floating up to the surface and resurrecting it's career than Joe Hart reaching the top level again. As a 3rd choice he is fine but i'd rather have Gazzaniga as a second choice.Hugo has been back to his best under Jose’s GK coach. Hopefully the same coach can revive Hart.
Nah. Gazza’s a much better GK than Hart. Hart is a bad GK now. As a 3rd keeper to help the HG quota its whatever. But we are in serious trouble if we want to win cups with Hart as the #2. The hope is Hart doesnt have to play any more than a handful of minutes if that.I have to say I liked Gazza. Wasn’t sure when we signed him but think he’s been a fairly decent stand in. His feet are great and he has made some important saves. But God he’s slow at diving. Low shots seem to be a real weak point, reminds me of Forster, any shot low and he struggles.
As many have pointed out the obvious, Gazza and Hart are probably fairly similar levels, but with Hart stepping in and potentially freeing up a HG place, it does make sense to move Paulo on, although I will never forget his distribution in that 2-0 win at the Emirates
He’s certainly had downs and clearly not fulfilled anywhere close to what he should be (I thought he would go on to be in the top 5 keepers in the world) but I don’t think he’s “a bad GK”.Nah. Oh dear, we’re fucking idiots.
Not a truther but I think his form needs to be considered in context. Spurs are a better team than both West Ham and Burnley and have a better defensive record than both those teams. Yet Gazza has conceded twice as many goals as Hart over the same number of games during the last few seasons.Anyone who watched Joe Hart play for Moyes's West Ham or Burnley should know you don't want Joe Hart playing a lot of minutes in a sit deep counter attacking team and get here we seemingly are. Gazzaniga isn't really good either but at least he's got some youth and versatility for goalkeeping style. Ah well, off to my hole again before the Joe Hart truthers come and yell at me.
In his prime Hart was top 5 IMO.He’s certainly had downs and clearly not fulfilled anywhere close to what he should be (I thought he would go on to be in the top 5 keepers in the world) but I don’t think he’s “a bad GK”.
And we've not had a backup CF for a while now - I'd far rather we use our non HG place for a backup CF than a backup keeper. In reality your second GK is used sparingly, your 1st team gk tends to stay fit most of the time. It's not like having a back up CB or CF who you really do need to rely on more often.

Hart also seems to be in a rejuvenated mental state right now and has far more winning experience and so for me I think there's very little to call between the two keepers.
