After reflecting on this game it worries me. We struggle to beat West Ham who basically played a full second string bar 3 players.
I know we won but we should be blowing away their second string.
Don't forget it was only a few weeks ago we lost to Mura the 340th team in the World and Vittesse, both are a lot worse than West Hams "second string". So a couple of wins don't make us contenders but it's a step in the right direction.

The biggest disadvantage of course being how little time Conte has had with our squad compared to Moyes and West Ham. Personally I love what I am seeing - we are hurtling in the right direction, but there will still be bumps along the way
As long as those bumps mean we keeping winning games 2-1 then I'm ecstatic ;)

We can only beat who is in front of us, we stood tall to pool, we took care of West Ham, job done.

So far so good under Antonio, so many problems he's had to deal with, but overall we're showing significant progress
The festive season will bring more problems as well as Holly and Mistletoe, that's not transfer ITK by the way ?
Let's hope we get some vital away wins to go with home triumphs
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bellls?... You know the rest ?

All WHU had against us was an arial fret which we couldn't handle. They were quite bland and had no out/ball with Antonio missing. Rice was oustanding and so was Lloris , overal we deserved thd win.

There out ball was Rice he bossed the game - no Antonio is a big miss for them plus missing the delivery of Cresswell - you could see why they have done well this season especially in the second half

That said we did ok defensively they didn't create much but it would have been nice to see us hold the ball better and control at least some of the second half - a wins a win but moving forward it was slightly disappointing after Sunday when he had a lot more control of the game though you have to take into account lots of different things when looking at football at the moment most notably about who is available and the different levels of freshness for all teams

Look's like he has a mate too called Winks who plays for Spurs.
Rice would be a monster signing if we had a chance of signing him (no chance unfortunately) best English midfield player by a distance if you have a choice of him and the lad at Fiorentina it would have to be Rice he offers so much and something we haven''t got

I think I'd still prefer the Fiorentina guy aka Vlahovic.

Good evening all, hope you are all well. I notice the Dier haters have woken from their slumbers. I know he made a mistake, BUT by playing the ball FORWARD through midfield has made a big attacking difference since AC arrival, and ED has been one of the better exponents. We lost against Mura because none of our defensive players took or passed the ball FORWARD but reverted to type and played a square 5 yard pass to another incompetent, resulting in slow cumbersome build ups. So although he did make a mistake give the guy a break and show some festive cheer, AC appears to like him and I have an idea that he knows more than us!
Have a good chrimbo, stay safe and look forward to a better New Year

The contrast to these England players and generations in the past couldn't be more plain. I find it hard to dislike any of the current England squad. Even those that play for the Gooners. Rice is a class player and seems like a genuinely nice lad.

Declan Rice was superb last night. Nice touch at the end giving his shirt to a Spurs supporter too.
Reminded me of Yaya Toure, too big and too fast to get the ball off. Made winks look like a boy trying to tackle him and then he just wanders forward at his will with the ball. Very impressive

I think some of the credit for this needs to go to Gareth Southgate, who clearly puts a high value on his players' character. He's been working with a predominantly young squad for the duration of his tenure as England manager and I'm sure he (a) has had an influence on how they comport themselves and relate to the public and (b) has excluded from the squad players whose talents are not matched by their behaviour.

Step forward James Maddison. Gareth appears to have bombed him out.
Rice certainly seems to have stepped up a level this season.

If we get to the final we will play Liverpool just so the media can drag up the CL final every two seconds to rub our noses in that. Revenge would be name of the game there.
Doesn't matter, we have to beat whoever we meet. The media
can say and do whatever theh like
