We qualified for top 4 18months after being in a relegation place, a truly horrific season, Liverpool came from 7th(?) last season to being pipped to the post this. Look at Southampton this season. Championship fodder not so long ago.

As far as I am concerned the slowly slowly approach to success is bullshit. It will come out of nowhere when everything clicks. At least for clubs who cant realistically sustain massive spending.

For that reason Im well up for next season. I reckon we got everything in place for a big fuckoff click.
Slowly slowly builds consistancy. Any team can overperfom one season.

Lets see if Liverpool are contending for the title again. I don't think so, they need to build up again. Lets see if Southamption can do it 2 years in a row. Witness Norwich and Swansea ...

Exactly my point.

We will never match City, Utd, Chelsea in the medals stakes. Over the long run, unless we get some dodgy oil money ourselves.

We can hope at best to remains there or thereabouts in our natural position (top 5/6) and wait for the occasional purple patch when everything clicks into place. See Atletico, Dortmund, Southampton, Swansea, Us under Harry. None will upset the apple cart for long before normal order is resumed.

You can take that how you want, depressing or as a reason for optimism whenever we kick off a new season that we could be in for one of the rare special ones.

We cant build slowly towards world domination, simply because the foundations will be pulled away from under us every season as our best players get cycled out.

The fat bloke sitting next to me losing a few stone over the summer period, so his sweaty arse is not permanently perched on my seat for 90 minutes every other Saturday..

Not having the Benny Hill theme tune embedded in my head as we chase the ball around aimlessly.

That and good players showing that they are just that in a good system (and with a good coach)

A good long, passionate wank over Lamela.

If that floats your boat then you don't need to wait until next season, the world is your oyster......Unless you want to go to WHL and literally do it over him.
