He has already played that role numerous times for Liverpool over his career, I've even seen him play at right back for them. Gerrard is a complete footballer who plays in a position that requires you to be pretty good at almost everything (central midfield). Soldado is a one-dimensional centre forward.
I just don't understand how out of all the possible things you could look forward to next season, you are looking forward to being proved right about one of our players not doing well.

WTF???

We won't sign a new forward until Soldado is gone. I am looking forward to his departure so I can get excited about the possibility of signing a replacement. Is it the thing I am most looking forward to? Of course not. I'm more excited about playing Arsenal and Chelsea, and seeing who Pochettino lines up with in Europe and how he fares as he has not managed a club in europe yet. But this thread is 8 pages long now and all of those things have been said already. I just preferred to scroll down my list of things that I am looking forward to to post something that had not already been mentioned

All in all we never should have signed Soldado, so i am looking forward to the club realising this so we can turn our attentions to targets that may be able to make a success of themselves in the premier league. Soldado just doesn't have the tools.

I think Soldado will be fine so long as poch gets the widemen running past him. He looks far more like a false 9 to me than the classic lone striker. With him and Adebayor we can mix up the two approaches, and Kane covering for injuries offers a bit of both
