Buy:
Bale - Still class, winners mentality, him, Kane and Son ?

Reguilon - Davies is a reliable left back but Reguilon is class and would see him and Sessegnon as our left backs for the future.

Donyell Malen - Scored for fun before he was injured, great pace, strength and good in the air. He would not be backup and would easily play with or without Kane across any front 3 positions. His like for like stats are better per 90 than Aubameyang and Vardy and can be compared to Gabriel Jesus

Out:
Sissoko- Injuries are a factor so think we should claim in while we could still get some good £ for him. Aswell as I think Winks, Hojbjerg, Gedson and future prospects Skipp and White cover us.

Carter Vickers: I think Foyth is a better prospect personally and quicker. Last year of his contract, time to move on.

Can’t really see another thread to put this in so this seems as good as any.

We should be keeping an eye on Ryan Kent at Rangers. Would be home grown, still young and fell through the cracks at Liverpool. I’m doing the tight camera at every Rangers home game and he’s getting better and better every week. Good pace, great feet and now adding end product as well. Plays with a scowl on his face and a bit of bite to his game. Exciting to watch. He’s been their best player through the first 6-7 odd weeks. A Raheem Sterling kind of player positionally and attribute wise

Ultimately, he might never quite reach the heights to be an absolute starter for us, but if he keeps improving then he could end up as a very useful rotational player

As there's a fair bit of this going on in other threads I thought I'd make this thread so people can get it off their chest.

Rules!
  • List your 3 buys.
  • List your 3 sells.
  • You can justify your choices in your post.
  • You can rate people's posts to like/dislike their choices
  • No discussion of other people's choices, any discussion on ANY players should go in the player threads.
  • Bonus Rule: If you must, post your new line up so we don't end up with formations going in other threads :p
You can either go with what you want to happen or what you expect to happen and can clarify which you've done if you want.

My wish list:

Buys

Bale
- We need winners. We need to show ambition if we want to keep Kane. I can see this happening.
Reguillon - Probably the hardest position to find quality and he is probably the best available and at a decent price.
Daka - I honestly don't know who. There are so many names foating around and I don't know enough to work out who I'd prefer. If we sign Bale, then I'm less concerned about having a ready-to-go forward and am happier that it's a kid who's mainly potential. Daka would seem to fit that bill but so do many of the others we've been linked with. If we don't get Bale then I'd lean towards Vinicius.

Sells

Aurier
- Complete liability.
Sissoko - This one's problematic because of how"popular" he is but he's just not that good. I'm assuming Ndombele comes good and fills that box to box role.
Lamela - A tough one but given injuries and end product, I think it's time to reluctantly move him on.

Pretty much this, agree regarding Sissoko was we really need to move on from him. And Lamela is just too injury prone and blows hot and cold from one game to next so we could do with freeing up squad place to freshen things up.

Really hope we get Regullion, Bale and a centre forward and would be happy. Although being greedy feel we may still need another engine room midfielder.

SELL

  1. Lamela : 7 seasons been a good servant in trying & putting effort and giving it all. But thats not enough. He is 28 now.
  2. Sessegnon : I will loan him out or sell if we get most of his fee.
  3. Sissoko : Been a great servant, but again we can do better than him. I would have sold Ndombele for 3rd choice, but Jose seems to be backing him so lets give him a chance this season. So,Sissoko. Pushing 31. Right time to sell him.

BUY :

  1. Reguillon : No brainer LB transfer. He is available. Accept the buy back if required after say 3 yrs
  2. Edouard/Vinicius/Milik : Any one of them as Striker
  3. Konrad Laimer : Nonstop pressing CM. Can play through the pressure. Can also play right side. IMO, we need CM options and push Lo Celso and Ndombele high up field

Very hard when you are limited to 3 in 3 out as theres a few areas that need addressing, but the chance to get Bale in overides all those needs!

IN:

Bojan Nastic: 26, perfect age. Left back. He has 10 assists in 20 games for BATE and is now a full international for Bosnia. He is also a winner, and we need them, having won cups in Serbia, Belgium and now Belarus. Won't break the bank, and sounds exciting!

Wojciech Bialek: Yes, I know what you're thinking. Yes a 38 year old striker is hardly the ideal age. But, he will be within budget, scored a hattrick this week and has an exceptional record 19 goals and 10 assists in 28 games. I mean I am a big watcher of fourth tier polish football, and I just think he has got what it takes. Get a few seasons out of him and the Parrott can step up

Olakunle Olusegun: This Nigerian 18 year old soon-to-be super star is equally comfortable playing out wide as well as in the centre. He has it all, the intriguing football manager sounding name, the Nigerian youth caps, and yes a hat trick on his debut. In his only 2 professional games to date he has scored 5 goals in the NordicBet Liga. Which goals per game is a better strike record than Messi. Honestly, out of all the options I've looked at this is the one I feel is the most likely to make a serious impact at his club. Long term and short term

OUT:

Skipp: Not good enough, like I watched him play last season, closely, very closely, and he didn't score, or set up a goal once! Looked average, will never make it, just like I said about HK.

Hojbjerg: Yes, I know we just signed him, but considering defensive midfielders, as a rule, tend to divide opinion, and considering some are expecting a lot of him I want to get ahead of the curve, so in a years time people can look at this post and be like, ohh yeah we deffo should have sold him then, this poster knows what he's talking about.

Kane: Lets face it, he's past his best, he is going to leave anyway, and with the likes of Bialek and Olusegun I think we have him covered. You know, one out to make the team better and all that.

Grealish would be the very top of my list.

We're just so devoid of creativity, and he has it in spades and is well established at this level in this league.

This is one of these signings that's absolutely worth going all out for as he'd improve the team so significantly as a collective.

Its such a critical ingredient. Yes we have Lo Celso and hopefully Ndombele, but we need more.

Yes, we lack creativity, but as a team collectively, we do not play as a unit. This is killing us, because we keep looking for that one player or two who will solve all our problems. Need to start creating and finishing off our chances as a team first. Players need to start taking responsibility.

Saying all that, would love us to buy Grealish. Dream signing for me this season.

Gave my wishlist a couple of days ago but for the first time I really do think the squad need new blood and not just "addressing the areas that were weak".

I'd forgo a striker for the sake of the midfield.

Buy:

Sabitzer
Grealish
Thiago

Could go on with other unrealistic options if we had the money.

Sell:

Sissoko
Lamela
Rose
