21:43 SUBSTITUTION - Tottenham 2-1 Sheriff Tiraspol
Christian Eriksen - who has had a good second half - is replaced with 10 minutes left. Lewis Holtby takes his place.
21:34 GOAL - Tottenham 2-1 Sheriff Tiraspol - Ismail Isa
Tottenham have conceded a goal in the Europa League! Finally. It comes out of nothing really, Cadu letting off a powerful shot from 20 yards which Brad Friedel seems to miscalculate, he can only pat the ball down into the danger zone and Ismail Isa arrives first to prod in the loose ball.
21:32 Substitution, Tottenham Hotspur. Harry Kane replaces Gylfi Sigurdsson.
21:30 GOAL - Tottenham 2-0 Sheriff Tiraspol - Jermain Defoe (Pen 57 mins)
Club record for JermainDefoe, who is now Tottenham's record goalscorer in Europe. His 23rd goal in Europe comes in emphatic style, smashing the penalty into the roof of the net.
21:28 PENALTY TO SPURS - Tottenham 1-0 Sheriff Tiraspol
That really is special! Slaloming run from Erik Lamela as he drives at the heart of the Sheriff defence, beating three men with a superb couple of touches and going down after a clumsy challenge from Djibril Paye.
21:22 GOAL - Tottenham 1-0 Sheriff Tiraspol - Erik Lamela
There it is! Spurs get the breakthrough, and it's a first goal for record signing Erik Lamela! He starts the move, cutting in from the right before finding Christian Eriksen in the D. Eriksen flips a pass over the top for Paulinho, a defender gets a head on to it and Lamela follows in to lash home on the bounce from 10 yards. Really good, clean connection and he is up and running...
21:20 SUBSTITUTION - Tottenham 0-0 Sheriff Tiraspol
Etienne Capoue's comeback has lasted 58 minutes, he gets a healthy reception from the White Hart Lane crowd as Paulinho comes on in his place. Can the Brazilian sniff out an opening?
HALF-TIME - Tottenham 0-0 Sheriff Tiraspol

Tottenham Hotspur head into a tie with FC Sheriff looking for a fourth Europa League success and a place in the knockout stage.

Spurs boast an unblemished record in continental competition this season, with maximum points taken from their three fixtures so far.

A point is all they require on Thursday to make it safely through to the last 32 with two games to spare.

Andre Villas-Boas' troops will also be looking to preserve their perfect defensive record, with a watertight back four yet to be breached in Europe.

It is likely that the pack will be shuffled again in midweek, with Spurs now boasting the strength in depth required to compete on multiple fronts.

Whatever line-up they go with, they will feel that they have enough to see off Sheriff at White Hart Lane - having already claimed a 2-0 victory over the Moldovan champions on the road.

Jermain Defoe could be among those selected by Villas-Boas, with the England international in need of one more goal to become Spurs' all-time leading scorer in Europe.

Hugo Lloris is in contention to start Tottenham after taking part in training on Wednesday morning.

Goalkeeper Lloris has been passed fit despite being knocked unconscious in a collision with Everton's Romelu Lukaku on Sunday.

Villas-Boas says either Lloris or Brad Friedel will start the Group K clash, but he will not make that decision public until an hour before the game.

Defender Danny Rose (toe), midfielder Sandro (hamstring) and left-back Zeki Fryers (groin) are out while Villas-Boas says striker Emmanuel Adebayor will not feature.

Sheriff will be looking to call upon the momentum they have built at domestic level, with a seven-point lead opened up at the top of the Moldovan National Division.

Coach Veaceslav Rusnac believes his fully-fit squad are capable of taking something from a trip to England, with there only two points separating his side from Anzhi Makhachkala in the battle for second spot.

He said: "By now everyone is healthy and ready to take the field.

"We are not going to London just to have a regular game on the field. We are coming to get points because we want to play in Europa League in spring."

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has been passed fit for Tottenham's Europa League game against Sheriff Tiraspol despite being knocked unconscious in a collision with Everton's Romelu Lukaku on Sunday.

Spurs boss Andre-Villas Boas says he has not yet decided if Lloris or Brad Friedel will play and will only reveal his decision on Thursday evening.

Danny Rose (toe), Sandro (hamstring) and Zeki Fryers (groin) are out.

Villas-Boas also said that striker Emmanuel Adebayor will not feature.

Tottenham have already won their first three Group K games, including a 2-0 victory over Sheriff in Moldova, and victory at White Hart Lane will ensure Spurs qualify for the last 32.

Villas-Boas, who has already won this competition while in charge of Porto in 2011, said: "We will make a lot of changes [for Thursday] but there will be no complacency,"

Sheriff are yet to win away from home in the Europa League.

Tottenham provisional squad: Lloris, Friedel, Walker, Naughton, Chiriches, Dawson, Vertonghen, Paulinho, Dembele, Holtby, Lennon, Lamela, Eriksen, Townsend, Sigurdsson, Bentaleb, Chadli, Defoe, Soldado, Kane.

Only need a draw tonight to qualify for the next round. A win and the other group match ending in a draw will mean we will qualify tonight as group winners.

High pressing, triangles and intricate play around their box, if Ade is out in the cold then Kane over Defoe if we plan to pass the ball. Thanks in advance Andre xxx

I would like to see a midfield of Lennon on the right, Lamela in the middle and ether Eriksen or Chadli on the left.

With Kaboul and Rose still out it sounds like we'll basically be seeing our first choice defence tonight (although presumably Naughton will play).

I'd like to see us go with the following:

---------------------Friedel-------------------------

Naughton Dawson Chiriches Vertonghen

------------Dembele---Holtby------------------

Chadli ----------Eriksen ---------------Lamela

---------------------Kane------------------------

Never going to happen though.

Is Chadli fit after he was taken off last week?

Hope to see Capoue at least on the bench for this one, and Holtby/Eriksen playing in CM, but that wont happen.

on sunday i want to see: lloris, walker, vertonghen, kaboul, rose, paulinho, sandro, townsend, eriksen, lamela & soldado

as such, only play lamela tonight please, we've got more than good enough a squad to cover it & he's the only one that really needs gametime, possibly eriksen for 30 too

i'm also going tonight woo so i can shout my anger in a place where it'll be heard instead of screaming at the internet
