Almost an impossible situation to comment on without having any understanding of the logistics of it all.
Obviously safety of everyone involved has to take precedence, so I think calling any decisions made 'a joke' or 'a farce' is probably a bit unfair in the circumstances.
I'd have liked it if they could have found locations for the games and played them behind closed doors if that helped with the issues of getting fans around. But assuming that isn't possible (for whatever reason) I'm not sure what other options they'd have?
You can't postpone games and push the whole tournament back. To start with presumably there's no guarantee the typhoon actually buggers off in that period, and you're then messing up the entire rest of the tournament which surely isn't the right answer.
Obviously it's crap for Italy who are going home without getting their very slim chance at qualification. Similarly it would be cruel on Scotland if it happened to them. I'm fairly certain they'll have looked at all of the options before taking the decision to cancel matches though.
After all the furore, it’ll end up being played and Japan will end up being even more fired up and run out comfortable winners.
All this will backfire on Scotland. Japan are being questioned by a few, I think it’ll stoke their fire even more.
It think it will be real high scoring end to ender.
You really have to feel for the Scots.
Their rugby team have a decent opportunity to qualify in the Rugby World Cup and a typhoon potentially condemns them to a 0-0 draw.
Meanwhile, their football team would have bloody loved a 0-0, yet not a fucking typhoon in sight and they've just been dicked 4-0 in Moscow.
?
I'm also looking forward to the build up for eng/aus (which I think will be a good game also). Eddie has been pretty well behaved by his standards I can see him talking some shit to cheika.
Tokyo apparently just got hit with an earthquake, the typhoon is coming in a few hours.

Looking at those pictures I’m starting to think holding a WC in Japan during Typhoon season wasn’t the best idea.
Best ideas often go out the window when money and publicity come first.
