I would prefer us to stick to Moussa Sissoko. IMO a much better prospect as he gets up and down and is not just a DM.

Mvila has developed a poor reputation in France now for having a poor attitude and enjoying the social side too much.

Undoubtedly has quality but i would be worried with paying him loads of money and letting him run riot in London.

Apparently we also bid 15mil for M'Vila in August..........according to Arry.

According to Harry we bid for everyone. Anyone else get the impression that our transfer windows went like this;

HR - So Dan, how did we get on with those bids for M'Villa and Remy?

DL - oh yeah, I meant to call you, they said no.

HR - really? His agent said he was available. How much did you bid?

DL - *thinking (don't say too low as he will want to pay more, too high and its unrealistic) Errrr £15m.

HR - Oh ok they ain't worth that. well in that case we might aswell move on.

DL - yeah I agree, what do you think of Louis Saha??

HR - ......

I don't want us to sign another defensive midfielder. I think people are being harsh on Livermore and have just forgotten his qualities. surely he's good enough to be our back-up to our back-up? Would like to see Luongo become a part of the squad too.

Edit: Would still go for Sissoko on a pre-contract as he's not just a DM, he's cheap, and he could replace Hudd and Jenas in the squad, or Parker next year.

I'm late to the party, 'cos of snow blocking my keyboard...

I see sissoko and m'vila being linked - jj/ryan mentioning the latter - but has anyone itk actually suggested sissoko or are we all naming players we like again?

serious question! (y)

I agree about Luongo mate, but what ive seen of livermore this season (in my onion) puts him on par with being as useful as Anne Frank's drum kit...

Agreed, Sissoko is better equipped IMO. Can drive a side forward which is another trait we need.

I like Jake, but he needs to go out on loan to get more games under his belt, consistently, at this level for his development. As it stands we'll be a weaker side if we are relying on him for any sustained period of time should Parker/Dembele get injured. We can't afford to take the chance at this moment in time, he's not at that level yet. I'm really hoping that we loan him to QPR, great move for him to get regular games under a manager who already knows him.

Agree 100%!!!!! Can you imagine if M'Villa and Ade both threw a sulk? I can

I'd take Sissoko over M'Villa. Makes more economic sense. More a Levy type of signing. Plus M'Villa is a nutbag!

On a side note I got my first neg rep for sharing the love with Snarf and the imformative work he puts in.

I guess someone doesn't agree Snarf!

I would take Diame over both, but also agree that Sissoko would be a better move than M'Villa.

I agree he needs games but so would the likes of Sissoko (23), M'Vila (22) and Obiang (20?). Jake will be decent when he isn't thrown on for just the final 5 minutes of games, when we are desperately hanging on to a lead and he is trying madly to impress.

all this talk about hoping we sign someone before 12 so they can play against manure is IMO rediculous. Even if we registered them in time they would not have trained with the squad and im sure AVB is shrewd enough to realise he can rely on what we already have than someone who has just walked through the door. admittedly we need re-enforcements but we need to take each player, and game on its merits. Throwing a new player (2 days at the club) into a game of this magnitude makes no sense. With regard to earlier comments about buying cover for Sandro. Parker is that cover (good enough for our player of the season last year). Signing a player to cover 'just incase' isnt financially viable and leaves us with a player taking up a chunk of our wage budget when 'the beast' returns.

Also, he looked worse beside Sandro because the partnership lacked a creative spark. I've seen him play well, namely beside Modric (the home game againt Everton last season he was very good).

That said I still think we should be looking at cover with a tad more quality at this present point. Its going to be nail biting and we can't afford to weaken ourselves.

we are quite predictable really in the transfer window. We secure 1 or 2 very early signings, usually young players for the future. Then looked to sign 1 or 2 older players on the very last 2 days of the window. So I suspect nothing will happen for another 2 weeks.
Enjoy the snow!

personally instead of buying more midfielders i'd like to see carroll get more game time, it seems to me he has something about him. If nurtured properly i think he could possibly be a fantastic player

Sissoko seems like the perfect answer, out of contract in the summer and the potential to be our Vieira for years to come.

Short term: Parker - Sissoko

Long term: Sandro - Sissoko

Send Jake out on loan, give him regular football and see what he's got to offer week in week out in the premier league.

Agree. I really like what I've seen of him. A tidy and intelligent player, the only thing being he can't play that enforcer role that we've lost now. He'd be at his best alongside a Sandro.
