Love us to get eze, can understand Jose thinking this isn’t our top priority though. Still hope we can get him.

I'll be amazed if we get Eze and also very happy. I assumed that Eze would be the type of signing that Covid would put a stop to.

Interested at the fact one of the reasons we might not sign him is because there might be other options - not often Spurs find themselves in a possible no lose situation! :joyful:

Interesting on Kim, I was thinking that after recent weeks we might not be signing another CB. PEH in early is a big thing, Jose most likely has stressed that to the clubs heirarchy.

Eze is probably one we may sit on until near the end, but he may get fed up of waiting, especially if he has other Premier League offers. The availability of Brooks and recent links to Diaz mean that Jose has choices. I just hope we don't piss the lad about.

We def have a space available for a central attacking mid, particularly when Son is also main cover for Kane.

Son, Dele, Lucas, Lamela and bergwijn. five players for three positions, even if you include Lo Celso there is definitely space for one more.

In CB situation it probably will be in for Foyth. Who I suspect we will cash in for, considering he is a full international and would command a decent fee. I would rather keep Foyth and invest in elsewhere. But, I suspect that is what will happen.

At the moment we have 22 first team players (including Skipp, not including Rose and KWP who are off) that will go down to 21 after Skipp is on loan, maybe clarke will come in?

But the point is we have gaps to fill. Our squad, at the moment, isn't very big.

Haha I mean cmon... Argentinian international who has been really impressive for us in games against Chelsea, Dortmund, MOTM performances last year now to a player from China?
To be honest, the league they come from doesn't matter. Everyone has to start somewhere.

If Jose doesn't think Foyth cuts the mustard but this Korean lad does, I guess we have to go with the manager.

Or, player who has managed an entire 25 league appearances in his entire career and been error strewn in several, who appears to lack the physicality and stature to play his position in this league, or 6ft3 fast player from China who has averages more than that amount in the last theee years in his continents top two leagues.

See, you can spin anyway. Way I see it is, one is down to his last two years with us, has not developed at all due to not playing enough men’s football, and still solidly behind three better, more experienced centre backs for at least the next season, perhaps longer (And that’s excluding Tanganga from the discussion). The other has developed as he has played, regardless what you think of the level, is young enough to have some improvement left in him, and given that we’d roughly break even on the transfers, and that they’re close in age, we’re better placed with him as an option, particularly when you consider that we are talking about at best our fourth choice centre back.

Eze is exactly the sort of young talent we should be signing. Reasonable fee, great prospect, only likely to increase in value.

While I whole heartedly agree, I wonder if he would get any minutes considering our teams congestion in his role. Additionally, it is very clear Jose rates experience over talent, which is why I worry about a guy like this signing for us and then leaving on loan or never getting minutes. I think of Bergwijn and how Jose doesn't necessarily prefer him over Lucas and has stated that he was not his first option. I am not saying this is indicative of anything other than the fact that Jose truly prefers experience over everything.

The thing is, Eze is the type of signing Daniel has had success with in the past, turning some type of value out of a player with his skill set and current cost.

Next thing you know we'll be signing players from the USA :cautious:

Not sure if I love the Eze link. Mostly because, how is he different to Bergwijn and Moura? All the highlights I've seen of him (don't watch QPR ever) suggest a speedy winger with technical skill, but decidedly not a passing #10 and someone who could play in a central area. In fact he seems a lot like Bergwijn. Is that not a little redundant when Son, Moura, Bergwijn, and to some extent Lamela/Alli are all fighting for 2 places in the attacking wing positions behind Kane?

I think Eze is actually more like Grealish than he is either Moura or Bergwijn. He can carry the ball well, beat a player, pick a pass and finish well.

He is not rapid though and is more suited to a central role but will do a job out wide.

Bergwijn was Jose's first option for backup to RW, he just wasn't Mourinho's first choice SIGNING for January, that was a backup striker (Giroud) to Kane. Two completely different things.

Also, Whilst Mourinho does value experience, it is definitely not the most important thing too him, work rate on both sides of the pitch is.

Back to the topic though, I will be really impressed if we get a deal done for PEH early. This is our most important signing and if we can sign a decent RB to replace Aurier, then we will be much stronger already.

Cheers for the info as always @Hercules

I get the impression that Levy would rather shave a goat’s nut sack with a beard trimmer than have a DOF..

Apart from all the DoFs we've had over the many years prior to Pochettino. Who openly didn't want one.

Seems like are irons in the fire anyway - hopefully we get things moving sooner rather than later, as the window is a bit confusing with all the strange dates.

Interesting. Only seen him on YouTube but it seems like he’s a cut inside dribbling winger type rather than a talented passer with vision. Plus almost all of the highlights come with him in space rather than timing to face a low block. Class player no doubt I just worry about the fit here.
