Great information. Thanks
Regarding outgoing we are simply not aggressive enough at moving people on. Lloris, for example, was left behind for the Far East tour so he could arrange a transfer yet over 3 weeks later there is no news of him moving. We continue to allow players surplus to requirements to linger around for far too long. I don’t buy the argument that they are in too high a wage for other teams to be interested in buying as we are renown for paying less than other big clubs. It always seems to me to be a lack of drive from the club to move them out.
What we have to remember is that these isn’t a huge amount of money in the European leagues, so transfer fees and wages become an issue for fringe players. Whilst we can make it clear they have no role here, finding a new home becomes a tricky one - Lloris being a great example.

If there’s no market for our outcasts, we can’t get rid.

I agree with most of that but I don’t think we press their agents enough to find a new club for them. Despite the opinions of many on here most of them are good players who could be successful at other clubs here or abroad.

The longer this goes on, the more I’m believing he will stay. He is bound to be thinking what we can achieve under Ange, results haven’t been great preseason but we are playing some tasty football.
Agreed, I think he probably sees more sense in waiting it out until January. His new kid will be 5+ months old so much easier to move the family at that point.

I hear what you’re saying. I can’t comment on how much pressure is applied to agents. But let’s be honest here, who is going to look at the players we want to sell and say “ooh, they’re my first choice”? They’ll be 4th or 5th - someone who could be bought if clubs can’t get who they really want, as long as an agreement on fee and wages can be made.

Honestly if I were him, I’d stay a year and have his pick of clubs. Tbf to him he deserves it, I hate the thought him in Manchester red but I always thought that’s where he would end up.

Who’s buying them?
Who wants them, the manager, chairman, head of football etc etc?
Who’s selling them?
Where is our DoF?
Where is our Head of Football?
What is our plan/strategy for the next 4 years?
Do we have a plan?
How long will this new manager get?
Is the game about Glory?

No you’re right, nothing to see here. Seems like the football club is being run extremely well, 3 days before the start of a new campaign

Property/planning applications - A+
Football club - D+
A lot if those questions are answered, or are not really good questions.

comparing ourselves to other is good context here, as it shows the environment. Lots of to clubs are struggling.

with appointment of Ange we clearly have a plan. Our dof is Paratici. He’s still working for us. How long will Ange get? Probably up to the fans.

I get that a lot of these things are frustrations. But that doesn’t mean they are part of some broader plot to bring down the club from the inside.

Could end up paying up Lloris's contract like we did with Aurier.
Hope we do the same with Dier.
There's no point just leave him on the bench as back up. He's not an issue and if he doesn't have an offer he can stay and help viccario adapt to the club and league. I'm sure he's got something lined up just no idea why it's taken as long.

As far as I’m aware our DoF (Paratici) resigned in the third week of April having stepped back from his role at the end of March & our new Head of Football ‘Munn’ was announced in the 2nd week of April

It is now the 2nd week of August - less than a week away from a new season

We have no DoF & haven’t set eyes on our new Head of Football

Call me old fashioned but I don’t think we’ve got our ducks in a line on the pitch, and that’s being generous!

Yet we're still signing the players we need? Almost as if we don't NEED a DoF and that Munn is probably having an influence despite not being officially working.

Is Forster not our No.2 now?

Let's not get the thread locked with general squad chat
“Things are a bit of a mess right now as far as the build up of the squad are concerned”

If I’m off topic I apologise but that’s Trix quote this morning and surely this is partly/wholly due to our lack of DoF/Head of Football etc 🤷‍♂️

It’s been consistently reported that paratici’s ban got lessened which has enabled him to consult for us. The amount he is able to do is clearly enough for the club to view him as our dof still, in effect, and I’d assume is the reason there has been ZERO rumour or info on an actual dof hire. He is it and will likely be rehired once his full ban goes.

I’m not saying we’re perfect. Just that I don’t really know what this perfect is that you are searching for. There’s grey in between perfect and absolute disaster. I guess it just frustrates me when people just think it’s a binary reality. AlthoughI will admit for sure that I am overly ‘look on the bright side’, just cos I find like easier to navigate and enjoy with that default. Every fan base will have its frustrations.

can't call you old fashioned for in previous times it was all down to a manager, there would be no DoF or HoF. 😄
