At the end I started to genuinely wonder whether he was suffering from quite a profound mental illness. Plus he never seemed to get good advice or support from his 'inner circle'. At least the club did their best to support him but he could never seem to help himself. Not one of the clubs he played for looks on him with any real affection despite some amazing performances.

I think he'll look back on the last years of his career with genuine sadness. What a waste of talent.

I think you're spot on. He has been a pain in the arse wherever he has been but there are some, pretty strong, underlying issues which, as I said earlier, I hope he can sort.

Clearly a player who did well under Harry because of his low intensity workrate and 'just go out and play' approach. That just isn't enough for the modern day managers like Mancini, Mourinho, AVB or Pochettino. I thank him for what he did in his early spell here but I don't thank him for not actively looking to move clubs. As soon as AVB came in he should have been out the door. Instead he dug his heels in at every opportunity. Any player with a passion for football would have moved long ago for regular first team football. Maybe he was influenced by his friend Ekotto and decided football is nothing but a job. If he had the motivation to play he would be a great player. Who knows maybe he will find that fire again elsewhere but i doubt it.
