Wasted talent. Could be as good as Drogba on his day but without the work ethic.

There is a trend with him though, fell out with Wenger, fell out with Mancini, fell out with Jose at Real, i think that would suggest it is more about him than it is the managers he has fallen out with

He wants a manager who will stroke his ego, very few will

Isn't that part of a manager's job though? To understand how to get the best out of players?

Very relieved this total waste of space has left the club. I wish him well for the future and do not wish him ill will at all as a person but my goodness he was a real disaster for the club because of his attitude. I hate players with his sort of attitude and our club will be much better off now with him out of it.

Its amazing how sanctimonious some of our fans can be when a player leaves. This fucker rinsed us for yonks and I for one won't be posting any words of thanks for him. Good riddance. Neg me as much as your little clicking fingers can muster.

Yes and no

Adebayor does what he wants, doesn't bother with pre season training, turns up for mali only when he can be bothered, doesn't turn up for days even weeks after internationals when he does bother playing for Mali

Managers can only do so much, Poch even made him vice captain in the hope of getting a shift out of him

Potential to be a world class player but his attitude is terrible and only interested in money! Imagine he will find it hard to get a club playing in any of the top divisions in Europe to pay him a £100k a week now!

I don't hate him, he has some serious demons. But he's filthy rich so I'm sure he'll survive and final pay day somewhere.
He's not our problem anymore and I won't be looking out for his progress like I do Bale or AVB

One and a half good seasons from him and one and a half terribledespicable ones

I'm fairly indifferent towards Ade.

I think he doesn't get enough credit for what he did for us and a lot of people don't understand what he's been through and how different the world is where he is from.

That said, I think the club has shown compassion towards him with leave etc so I would have hoped he would have been a bit less difficult especially with other premier league offers on the table.

The players need to be willing to adapt too though, it's not a one way street. Players like Kaboul, Lennon and Adebayor just didn't seem to want to put the work in. Compare that to how Dawson actually tried hard and fought to win his place under AVB.

I loved him and was so behind us getting him. I will never in my life understand how such a beautiful player could be so mystifyingly inconsistent and fucked up.

Like Spurs, really.

I think every manager in zee vulrt would stroke his ego on a 30 minute basis if he played for free. Demanding high wages and then that kind of coddling is taking the Michael though. He has the mentality of a toddler.

Another example of wasted talent largely. This sport is littered with them. So much ability, rarely applied.

Still, on a human level, I wish him no ill will.

I'm glad he's gone but sorry how it's ended. A hugely talented player on his day but incredibly frustrating and an easy target for dislike from the fans.

I genuienly hope he sorts out whatever demons he appears to have and can enjoy himself, even if it's not playing football.

Thanks Ade (I think).

At the end I started to genuinely wonder whether he was suffering from quite a profound mental illness. Plus he never seemed to get good advice or support from his 'inner circle'. At least the club did their best to support him but he could never seem to help himself. Not one of the clubs he played for looks on him with any real affection despite some amazing performances.

I think he'll look back on the last years of his career with genuine sadness. What a waste of talent.
