Obviously, thanks for leaving. But also thanks for the 41 goals when no one else would score them!

You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

In his first season he more than played his part in getting us a top 4 finish. Showed under Redknapp and Sherwood that he can be a top player under the right sort of manager.

Best player in one of our greatest performances in years:

Thank you for that performance at Stamford Bridge a couple of years ago.

Ok I'm saying it, get your neg reps ready because I'm ready for them.
I thought Adebayor's treatment by club and fans was very disapointing at the end. He was lazy at times, had quite a few off days, but scored his share of goals. We all thought he was the greatest thing ever when he signed and started banging them in. It also took balls to sign for us after the treatment some fans gave him previously in his career. Maybe he had a problem with authority, maybe he needed to be cuddled lots and reassured he was 'The man' on an hourly basis, maybe a grown man earning £5m a year shouldn't need that, but apparentley he did and to be honest if little pats on the head after each training ground goal kept him as optimal Adebayor then we should have done it. Granted there may have been things occuring behind the scenes, but no one here knows enough about that to comment. So I'm going to say Good bye Ade, at times brilliant, at times lazy, but that's Spurs of the last 10 years in a nut shell really.

Unplayable on a day when he chose to turn up, unpickable for far too many times for a man with that much talent.

Genuinely could have been one of the very top a strikers in world football at one stage, but his attitude and mentality stopped him. A real shame.

Thanks for enriching yourself by a further £20m while putting in bugger all effort for 3 out of 4 seasons

I would of thought you of all people would have lauded his ingenuity.

Sort your head out mate,

you're becoming a contradiction.

Its our money that he was effectively stealing not Levy's or Lewis'

Every bit of merchandise and every ticket we bought were going into the pocket of a man who refused to put in any effort for it

The guy is a leech and a parasite, an almighty boil has been removed from the backside of this club

I can't see how anyone could thank him after his behaviour.

We've paid insane amounts of money to him over the last few years. He's an extremely talented player and we should never have been forced into a position whereby we have to pay him to leave. He'll now pick up even more money playing for another club and we'll see nothing in return, all whilst having to fork out money to get him gone.

He's a disgrace.

There are 100 anti Ade threads, mostly rabid, can't we have 1 positive or at least respectful, one to say thanks for what he did do, which wasn't nothing?

No idea what went on behind the scenes at Spurs or elsewhere; fair to say his career had more ups and downs than most, and by the end he was clearly a deeply troubled man. Thought some of the bile directed his way was fairly despicable.

He had 1.5 good seasons out of 4, the other 2.5 you might as well have put a traffic cone out there not Adebayor

I will credit those 1.5 seasons but the other 2.5 more than wipe that out

Actually he had 1.5 good seasons, maybe one ineffective season, and about a season and a half where he did not get on the pitch.

He played well under two managers, and fell out with two others, both of whom also fell out with a lot of other people.

A mixed bag, but a considerable asset when at his best.

There is a trend with him though, fell out with Wenger, fell out with Mancini, fell out with Jose at Real, i think that would suggest it is more about him than it is the managers he has fallen out with

He wants a manager who will stroke his ego, very few will
