Need width, I'd like to see Townsend start.

though for purely selfish reasons I don't want this tie completely dead before the second leg

I'll go:

Lloris

Walker
Fazio
Vertonghen
Davies

Stambouli
Mason

Townsend
Eriksen
Chadli

Kane

Would like to see that midfield combination.

For Leicester I'd be looking to bring back in Rose, probably Vlad at RB, Dembele back in midfield...Lamela if he's ready, and maybe involve Adebayor.

Bobby is back firmly on the bench for me.

Won't be easy but I'm hoping we can get an early goal and kill the tie on the night.

No holding back, I want us on front foot and trying to win the tie outright at home, although optimistic.

Considering Mason & Lamela haven't even been training I'm assuming they won't be available until at least WBA.

I'm assuming this match was why Townsend was rested today? I'd like to get this settled in the home-leg.

Mason must be there if he's fit.

Leicester in the FA is the one to rest a few or bring on off the bench, if you ask me
There is no way we should be resting players for Leicester match, we will play Sheffield United over two legs, so we will have a second chance should things go sour. Against Leicester we have one shot and thats it.

Having seen Clough alot, he isn't as good in the cups as people make out, he had a good cup run last year in the FA cup and carling cup but he had an easy draw. Over two legs they wont pose as much of a threat

We should just carry on the rotation.

Vorm
Chiriches Dier Fazio Davies
Capoue Mason
Paulinho
Lamela ------------------- Townsend
Soldado/Ade
That back four is good back four, chiriches the weak link but then walker seemed to have a poor game today. Capoue did well against Burnley and Paulinho has been good in his cameos so far.

you mean rest the players against Leicester of the Premier League?? and play a strong team against sheff Utd of League 1?? seems a bit backwards unless you're saying the FA cup isnt important

Personally for me you should always play you're strongest team available but making necessary adjustments taking into account fatigue etc. Theres always the option to make subs after 50/60 mins if the game is sewn up. Having said that I'd stick with Vorm purely because he's played all Capital One Cup games.

It's a semi-final against a team that are winning a lot of games at their level, and have also knocked out some Prem teams. Why risk a realistic chance of some silverware by playing a weakened team? As it stands, we have a much better chance of winning the LC than the FA Cup.

Agreed. Balls out for this one, and then flesh out the depths of the squad as we did in the Burnley replay against a Leicester side which will be much more focused on the league and getting ready for the return of it themselves anyway.
