Man for man, does anyone actually think that we have superior players to wolves? Our scouting and purchasing has been shocking. Average players with poor technique and intelligence in several positions.
The commentators were talking about Moutinho, the more they described him and his career it did make you realise what youre saying. Neves is up there too.

We've played Wolves 4 times and I'd say each game they've managed to impose themselves on us very well.

We really shouldn't back off. Really shouldn't. I'm so pissed at the lads. The first 20 minutes we were comfortable. And I was quite confident we could win comfortably. But the movement they got their goal, we went back hiding. Ffs seriously. Why so passive. We are chasing points and this was a six pointer game.

They need to grow some balls. Some of those lads out there are gone. Their mentalities are shot. Is no longer an issue of abilities, but their frame of mind. We were then back to being pegged and going backwards. What a shame. GLC wanted to go against the norm, Bergwjin wanted to do against the norm. But Winks and Lucas dragged them deeper into the safe route and we just couldn't advance.

The core group of players we seen under Poch era should be rinsed totally. Or they should be zapped like in MIB. The effect from last season calamity to this season etched into them so firmly their confidence were drained the moment they conceded.
Good post.
I totally agree with it.
It feels like a bit of a chicken and egg scenario... what is needed is players to take risks and make things happen, because quite frankly, lots of our players have the ability to do this. But the players don’t want to make mistakes, so play it safe, which ultimately invites pressure from the opposition.
I thought we were past this, as an established team, but is there any merit bringing in an experienced player in, who has won things to calm
us down etc.
It’s all a bit confusing at the mo.

I have a lot of faith in Skipp and think that Mourinho is stupid not to play him. He played Tanganga etc and that worked out well.I actually think Skipp will grow more than Winks as he has a good eye for the game and Winks too conservative
I think Winks is a really good player in certain scenarios, and has a bright future. However, I also think it’s a massive shame that Skippy hasn’t been given any time. Who knows what he may become, but there is obviously some talent there, and could certainly do a job. Loves to get stuck in too.... maybe a bit too much.

Ok, I give up. Tried to post something that would bring what happened today into perspective, but clearly failed. Obviously the wrong post on the wrong site, sorry.

I think other players make Winks look better than he is. In Man City’s midfield they’d be saying he is like Iniesta but he’s never going to impose himself on games and you need that from your midfield, especially in a 2.

I think we have to get a top quality CDM to screen the back 4 like Kante / Wanyama did for a season. I’d then put GLC next to them because he can pass and tackle and has a streak in him. Then you have your 3 behind Kane. One is Son. Maybe Bergwijn the other. If that boat handnot already sailed I’d have said Grealish in the 10.

could be really brave and try and get Werner and play him to rest Kane but also in some games play Kane as the 10, which he is capable of as he has a good range and eye for a pass as well as the goals.

Don’t worry bro. There are those for whom no amount of positivity or sense will make a dent. They don’t want it.
They want to wallow in their misery and drag everyone else into it with them.

you can be as positive as you like about our attacking play, since last season our defense is just fucking clown shoes, its pathetic.

The shitty thing is, that outside of the top 2 or maybe 3 at the top, everyone else above and below us, have had a pretty poor season, at least the ones who should be knocking on the door of the top 4. Had we put together a half decent run and not lost games through abysmal defending, we could have solidified third. Alas, that's not the case.

That’s what worries me. They had all week on the training ground to work on shape and they turned that in. So many times players just ran through our midfield at the back 3. Only GLC had the sense to take a tactical card when others should have.

but how though?? we gave some if the best central defenders in the game and davis/aurier are a better pairing than probably 17 other teams in the pl, despite some of the bs people spout on here..theres more resistance in a double dipped rich tea :(

makes no fucking sense, either. as Stoke demonstrated, you can take crappy footballers and still play defense. no excuses for the coaches.

Just out of interest where was the left back for their 3rd goal? I didn’t catch the game at all just seen the goals so I missed if we were on the attack and had been countered but there was a big fucking gap on the left hand side for their 2nd and 3rd

just noticed what looked like Davies attempting a tackle for the 2nd but watched them on my phone so it’s hard to see exactly it is

If you remove the year Leicester won the title the rest of the big six took a year out but this club couldn't take advantage, so it was left to a team that was almost relegated the year before to win it.
I'm afraid that this club is all about the if only and what might have been it's littered with examples of us falling on our arse failing to deliver.

I think Davies took advantage of the lack of fans at the bar and so went to get a beer it's the only excuse for the non existent defending.
